@mtfmuffins: Apple probably included a bigger battery to account for using the display in the Nano. However their tests are always with the display off.

I was too busy playing with my Teddy Ruxpin doll to watch. Those things scared me a little when they were at their peak. I never knew why cabbage patch dolls were popular either, but I sure did like them.

@wagnerrp: I agree. I'm just surprised it warrants a patent. This better be one heck of a surface coating.

@coldfuzion: You have to be at least 30 years old to have grown up with those commercials. Any younger and I think you'd just hear crickets after people watched it.

@OMG! Damagies!: Heck yeah. The two go together like sprinkles and ice cream.

I work with composites all the time. It looks like they invented a finishing touch to the manufacturing process that is already in place for composite laminates. They have basically figured out how to bond in a nice smooth looking composite free surface layer on top of the composite fabric layers. Typical

Despite the lack of still camera I still look forward to getting this on the latest iTouch, either through firmware or jailbreak. I'm too poor for an iPhone or I wouldn't be looking forward to my iTouch arriving with its planned obsolescence.

@An Atheist Jew: I wonder what the record is for the closest near miss?

@rekor: The camera limitations were completely intentional, in my opinion. If we can just wait for iTouch 6th gen, that will get fixed. Itouch 5th gen will just be a faster processor if trends hold true.

@Hamburger-helper: Once I discovered streaming media server apps I stopped storing movies on the iTouch. That wouldn't work on the road, but at home it's very handy. Still, you have a good point and I was thinking the same thing. But 32 GB still isn't that much space compared to what you can do with SDHC cards with

Just to be sure, the new iTouch will include a native microphone now, right? I don't see how it would work with facetime or record videos without it, but then again apple has left out the microphone in the past for reasons that just piss me off.

Advice to those who aren't married: Get married. Then when you get prescriptions filled for your spouse they ask things like date of birth and telephone number. You learn a lot about your wife then. I'll never forget my wife's birthday now.

They should catch me when I'm at a bar and just broke the seal. I could power the starship enterprise.

Hey, just extract some hydrogen out of some water and you've got a great new source for those balloons, except when they blow off someone's head. Actually, would a balloon full of hydrogen even make that big an explosion?

@CoHPhasor: I found it to be trite and derivative. Actually, no, I thought it was funny if you suspended disbelief a little.

@Gary_7vn: Tacking and gybing relies on the counterforce of the water you are sailing in pushing on the front of the boat. There would be no counterforce in space since you are technically sailing in nothing.

@protonjack: Okay, then take the second paragraph out of my original post. I was going for a useful analogy but that seems to be pissing people off.

Sometimes I am appalled at how conservative we are in America despite the fact that we claim to be the country with the most freedom. It's not right to give a baby a fully loaded bong, but people will string this woman up an burn her for posting a fake picture on the internet. This picture has no bearing on whether

@F3st3r: No, I am comparing the process of modeling a bridge to the process of modeling the brain. Shortcuts can be made that will give a decent model in both cases without going to the trouble of getting everything perfect. There are a lot of things that the brain does that probably don't matter at all towards
