Community often operated on a budget and let us know it. Community knew it could lock its main cast plus a guest star in a room for 20+ minutes and spin gold.

The even point it out in the episode its been 15 years since Donna had her problem. Ok fine but Donna had to pull herself together find a man get married and have a child . That would take at least a year or two.

I’m going to regret this but...

i think the things i miss the most from this type of tv is just having a year go by in your life with the characters.

I know I can (and should) look it up, but I have not had my coffee yet and it just strikes me as kind of wild that you can represent a district in which you do not live. I am sure there are valid reasons for it, but it *seems* like if you want to represent a district you should at least have to feign being a part of

This is not the greatest song in the world, this is just a tribute.

Americans who don’t understand white supremacist lingo are being kind of willfully ignorant at this point, and dangerous because of it. We don’t live in normal times anymore.

Except wtf does 1988 mean in the context of a Steamboat Willie horror knockoff? I know that there’s an element of nostalgia porn in bringing up the 80s but this seems.... convenient.

I like how she’s mistaken Trump’s weird can’t-fail popularity for her own. Sure, the MAGA morons would probably forgive Trump for giving a handy to a dude in the middle of a triple-X theater. God’s plan and all that. But Boebert’s no Trump; she doesn’t have his power. A more conservative district is not going to be

It is from WW2 though. Nazis used to end their coded messages with HH all the time. Allied codebreakers used this to help crack their codes. All they had to do was decode the HH and then use that to help reverse engineer the rest.

Hahaha.

The lesson the studios are going to take is “more toy movies!!!!

It’s not from WW2, it’s a modern day Nazi/skinhead usage. What you’re ignorant of isn’t history but current sociology. You don't need to be a racist to be aware of what the N word means, either.

1000% on the callout of the fucking cheapest, shittiest, hackiest impulses of these braindead dickbags making edgelord horror crap.

Don’t look to comics for logic or internal consistency. Sometimes, Batman can hold his own against Superman.

Sometimes, Batman gets his ass handed to him by a guy who’s really good with kites.

Exactly— If these dicks are going to complain “I have a right to be an asshole!” then we have the right to tell them to fuck off for being an asshole.

I can tell you from experience it is very hard to proofread your own stuff if you read it immediately after writing it. Especially if you use voice recognition. You KNOW what you typed/said so you tend to just read right over the errors.

He was FUNNY

I try not to expend too much energy on “why is X show not getting coverage here” arguments - we live in a SEO optimization hellscape so what’s the point? - but it does depress me a little that the AV Club keeps recapping things like ‘The Golden Bachelor’ while ignoring other shows, even ones that it will elsewhere

I honestly just think Gervais cannot help himself. He wants to belong so bad. He wants to be liked with every fiber of his being. But he also resents his own neediness and the objects of that neediness (Hollywood, celebs, etc.). I think Extras is almost more instructive than The Office. Extras put on display Gervais’
