The industry considers cancels way worse than delays, so they try to avoid cancels at all costs.

Another delta consideration is they will take MASSIVE delays to prevent cancels.  Where other airlines would throw in the towel delta will delay to the next day so they can say they did not cancel.  I’m not saying its a good or bad thing, it’s just how they do things.

I work 3 12 hour days and get four days off.  My pay is lower than average in my industry but FOUR. DAYS. OFF.  You simply cannot beat that.  I love my schedule.

Starting out in school with long summer vacations is one of lifes biggest let downs when you find out as an adult summer vacations will be bullshit from here on out.  Best to pull that bandaid off early and never give them the taste.
