I’ve said it before and I will say it again. Once Netflix goes with ads it’s all over. No longer are the paying customers the ones who decide what content gets published but now it’s the advertisers. Netflix like all other studios will only produce content that advertisers are willing to buy off on and the more

The Amex lounges are worthless. Everywhere I go there lines to get in. It looks like an swanky night club with a full on bouncer signing people up for the wait list.  Once again this is a case of “When everyone is special, no one is”.

I work on planes, I had one recently that during T/O roll switched from climb mode to speed mode, 100ft AGL the plane directed pilot to pitch nose down and threw the throttles to idle. Pilot overrode the commands and everything went well, but JFC, there are bugs in software everywhere. I’ve seen this happen 2 times

He lost money on that purchase.

I dunno, I have a quest2 and I exclusively use it with steamVR. I refuse to give mark facebook any money. I’ve used the wireless streaming version and it’s impressive for what it is, but delivers a far worse experience than tethered. Latency is bad, the picture gets all blurry when you move the headset fast.

Of course people will resell them, but valve has done a good job keeping the bots at bay. 1 per customer, pre-existing steam account with purchase made prior to a period of time. I think the end result is people who want one will have a fair chance at getting it, rather than bots sucking up the entire inventory.

In my town BB is the only source to get PC parts off the shelf. I live in a major metro city and we don’t have any major specialty PC part retailers. There are a few mom & pop shops that are awful with out-of-date inventory and current date prices. For many of us BB is our only option, and this total tech paywall is

This problem won’t go away until supply meets demand, then the bots will vanish. Until then, I think the only think you can do is what steam is doing with the steam deck.  BB could do the same thing, but won’t, and why? Corporate greed.

I really hope cromulent ends up in the lexicon. I find its use embiggening.

I live 2 miles from a distribution center, items are 2 days from when they ship, sure. But they often don’t ship for 4-7 days. I canceled prime last year and I notice no difference in shipping speeds. So long as I consolidate my orders to $35+ I still get free shipping that shows up in the same time.

I’m convinced that all forms of crypto are scams. This con has happened so many times in so many different ways, there is just zero trust in the security of crypto.

Airlines play dirty and within the rules of the game.

You raise some good points, especially about the antenna not being shielded, of course. I guess we shall see what the science says, maybe I need to roll back my reaction slightly because apparently both Airbus and Boeing are concerned about this as well so maybe there is more to this than first thought? I thought this

This is such a nothing burger episode of For Fuck Sake You Have No Idea What You Are Talking About.

I’ll throw my suggestion in as Airline Mechanic. Takes 2 years to get your A&P and you can get it at nearly any community college (don’t waste your time on private schools, the test at the end is the exact same). You won’t make $100k right out the gate, but the opportunity is there, especially if you work for a major.

NFT’s are the creation of capitalist trying to generate scarcity where none exist. It’s complete bullshit. We each have the same pepe image on our hard drives, but yours is worth money because the blockchain says you do? It’s all horseshit.

I predict MS will backtrack on this one when people can’t be bothered to force the upgrade.  I know I wont.  I have plenty of old hardware in my house that works perfectly fine and will keep W10 for now, one day if MS changes their tune, sure I’ll gladly load up W11, but for now I can’t be bothered to play their

To add to this, Prime is no longer 2 day shipping for all intents and purposes. I seldom get items I order in 2 days. Sure it’s 2 days when it ships from the warehouse, but it’s 7 days before that, and I live in a major city less than 2 miles from a massive Amazon distribution center. I’m letting my prime expire at

I fly out of SLC every week and have done so every week for 10 years. I have witnessed first had the shrinking of the lake and the increase of the evaporation ponds out west. The lake is being ravaged by industry and explosive home building in the valley. All I can think is that the legislators are seeing the new dry

I left firefox, kicking and screaming, because of googles dependence on PWA, everything they do now is PWA and FF does not support that, so once again the strong arm of tech wins again.
