I saw this - I was so hoping for a Sinead O’Connor-style situation (not that she is without her own demons) - that Scott would be alive after the missing reports. What a horrible loss.

truly incredible collection of comedic talent

I saw U.S. Girls a couple weeks ago, and they put on the best show I’ve seen so far this year, bar none. Fucking incredible.

Louis Herthum does malfunctioning robot better than I’ve ever seen as Peter Abernathy. Very glad he was bumped up to season regular.

So anyone else thinking that Maeve and Hector aren’t really free but rather are just going along with their programming and simply following a new narrative? IIRC, that was sort of hinted at in the Season One finale.

Now playing

Everything about Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace was brilliant but Matt Berry was my favorite part.

Of course not. He’s a liar!

You really think Henry Rollins is spontaneously, mistakenly cracking up at something there?

So you blame Kanye then?

But he’s the President!

His point was to read a review, instead of looking at a number.

Lady Dynamite was so much funnier than season 4 of AD.

Let the great remix begin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nah, they’re still golden.

In a few weeks, two artists who released my ‘Album of the Year’ - are/have releasing new stuff: Janelle Monae (with The Archandroid), and Jon Hopkins’ Immunity. Looking forward to Hopkins. Also, looking forward to hearing Parquet Courts’ new one, along Beach House and Courtney Barnett (who both released my number 2

I was addicted to Caribou in 2007 and I remember taking the subway on a trip to Japan when Melody Day came on my Ipod shuffle and everything just felt right in the world at that moment.

I’ve enjoyed everything that Battles has put out, but you’re right, the lineup from Mirrored was something else. Ty Braxton seems to have been irreplaceable, and credit to the remaining members for not trying to do that, but I don’t think any band, even a Battles themselves, will be able to make an album like Mirrored

I was similarly all set to complain about of Montreal not getting any recognition, but apparently Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer? charted at #72. I’m happy that Deerhoof got a mention, at least, since Friend Opportunity is possibly my favorite of their many albums.

This feels like one of the last years that I was really TUNED IN to music. That Battles album was on repeat all year for me. Still holds up.

I don’t know why seeing Syd in that guy’s body beating up those bitches made me laugh so hard, but I needed that.
