It’s possible I just wasn’t in the right frame of mind, at the time, to fully enjoy those albums. But _Last Splash_ is one of the handful of albums that I revisit from my college years.

I wasn’t too into the last couple of Breeders albums, but I’ve definitely liked what I’ve heard from this one, so far.
At least Preoccupations is no longer unfortunately titled.
I honestly thought all five albums last year were pretty solid. None achieved Nonagon Infinity levels of greatness, but still impressive.
The first two De la Soul albums have 24 and 27 tracks, and they aren’t getting any of those sweet ha’pennies from streaming services.
Just put out five albums in a year like King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard. Everyone wins!

I don’t know how to make you feel better about yourself, but this never fails to boost my mood at least a little bit.
Meadowlands is really great. I haven’t listened to that one in ages. I should give that a spin today.
A little on-the-nose, TBH :)
Bummer. But this is pretty much my experience with albums I looked forward to over the last couple of years. I try not to have high expectations, anymore.
FYI:
My first memory of listening to it happened to be on a road trip to New York City.
A.V. Club got me listening to some stuff this week (some tangentially):
As a music lover, it was pretty much a given my kids would get some form of music education. They are currently six years old and take piano lessons. We found a great music teacher for them who will jam with them or just let them improvise on their own —along with the typical lessons.
Man… all of those videos are gold. What a talent.
So it’s Kinja, is what you’re saying.
I don’t listen to much Hip Hop these days probably because I listened to Three Feet high and Rising (and The Low End Theory) enough to fill my lifetime hip hop quota. It really is a shame the album isn’t available on streaming services— or most of their albums, for that matter.
This seems like it could be good music to work to. I especially like it when those CAN beats kick in around 18mins.
