He really is a great drummer. I would love to be that good at anything.

No no. You’re thinking of The Aristocrats 2.

The amount of new music out there really is overwhelming. I’m fortunate enough to work in an office by myself and pretty much listen to music 5 or 6 hours every day. Can’t imagine how I would find anything if I was just a casual listener.

Yeah. I’m 43 and I find I get less nostalgic by the day. I still enjoy an album from back in the day, now and then, but I’m far more interested in being surprised by music, or discovering something new.

Aaah. So it’s nine inch-nails, not nine-inch nails?

Just finished listening to this. I dig it. It does seem like a lot of lyrics for a soundtrack, though. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I have been listening to Ágætis byrjun. Because sometimes it can get a tad bleak in Western New York (No. Really. It can) And Sigur Rós makes appropriately bleak music for such occasions.

Not all roasters use inert gas, but carbon dioxide released after roasting can actually protect them. The valve bags are designed to let the those gasses out while keeping air out, as well.

You see, I knew that particular Steven Toast reference might cause some confusion.

Who? Never heard of him.

Looks like I have some homework. Thanks! I’ll check them out

I should revisit his other stuff. I think what I really appreciate about When I Was Born… is how eclectic it is. The later stuff (IIRC) seemed to gravitate more towards “a sound.” It’s been a while, though.

Yeah. I’m pretty excited that they have the Last Splash lineup for this album.

“Brimful of Asha” is a great tune, but Cornershop’s When I Was Born For the 7th Time is a pretty solid album. I find “Good Shit” especially enjoyable.*

Last Splash is a really great album. Obviously “Cannonball” was the catchiest tune on it, but it’s an album I find myself revisiting more than most from that time.

I didn’t realize this until a couple of years ago, but Gold Earring is also responsible for “Twilight Zone,” which is pretty well known

Yeah. I was a kid when they were popular. I basically only listened to Top 40 radio at that time, with a little MTV. Overkill and maybe It’s a Mistake got airplay here, as well.

But this is a hot t… oh never mind

Now playing

Kevin Morby’s City Music was one of my favorite albums from last year, so I’ve been going back through his albums a bit. I’ve really been enjoying Our House On the Hill from his previous band, The Babies.
