It's interesting how differently people's brains work when it comes to music. I took piano for 7 years. I couldn't sight read, but could slog my way through a piece a couple of times and have it memorized.

Ben Folds is one of those people who plays with such effortlessness and playfulness, that it makes me wish I had kept playing piano. It just looks so damned fun.

I read this review and thought to myself "Björk?" But the very first track was like getting slapped across the face with a Björk fish.

The WFUV version is mixed so nicely. Makes me wish they (King Gizzard) didn't do so much lo-fi recording.

Yeah. “it sounds a heck of a lot like most other Gizzard songs of recent vintage” What!? They certainly have a lot of output, but accusing them of being samey at all seems kind of crazy.

SAME!

I was about to post ‘Wakin’ on a Pretty Day’ I happen to love that song, and prefer not to be jolted out of my sleep — however on-the-nose that answer may be.

The answer is simple: Volume

Jamie's album made me realize just how much I like his music without lyrics. I'm not totally against them, but I feel like if there were more bits throughout the album with sparse or no vocals, it would be a better album.

Is this a dig at Superfuzz?

This album sounds really good. Is it bad of me to want less singing, though?

Pixies - No. 13 Baby

TL;DW. Did they talk about King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard?

I cansee what you did there. :P

Perhaps I'm a snob. But as a parent, I believe kids are smarter and pick up on a lot more than most people give them credit for. Most (not all) kids’ music is really basic and repetitive and awful. The problem is that kids’ music is the default for what parents feel is okay for their kids to listen to. I think this is

“Once I burned a copy of her Kidz Bop” I read that totally the wrong way, at first.

It's amazing how dirty some of the originals are.

It's always fun when they really take to something unexpected. My son (5) will scream his head off to Björk’s It’s Oh So Quiet. It's hysterical.

I could be wrong, but I think the people calling this article out for being pretentious maybe just don't get it.
