You’ll notice on the spreadsheet that, at 72,384 miles and 115,362 miles, the air conditioning compressor had to be replaced. “AC compressors are one that...we realized early on, was that they are not designed to be used around the clock,” Sonnad told me, pointing out that this Model X’s AC was in use pretty much

Somebody has to point out that these are absolutely The Easiest Miles Ever Put On A Car. Long Distance, freeway speeds. 200 miles RT out to Palm Springs on the freeway. Livery services on the 500 mile RT to Vegas.

Best part of this thread is all the Tesla fans who are proving yet again that they are incredibly thinned skinned about even the slightest critique of their cars

Seems like half the car was replaced. My dad’s truck has 250,000 miles and he’s only replaced tires and brakes. I’ll stick to cars that don’t fall apart.

I might re-visit left foot braking. I’ve driven manual for most of my life and some of those manuals had break the seat off the rails, heavy clutches. My past attempts at left foot braking usually led to anti-lock activation. My left foot only has two settings evidently. Lite and To The Firewall.

Not gonna judge. Go nuts. Just don’t be the one driving everywhere with your foot resting on the brake just enough to keep your brake lights on 100% of the time (the tell-tale sign of the left-foot braker). That’s both annoying and not safe.

It’s safety and useless tech. Car prices would drop massively if companies would ditch useless tech that isn’t necessary. Lane assist isn’t necessary, neither is a stupidly complicated tablet in the middle of the car. Fuel efficiency barely has any effect on the price.

And the fact that they were red, white, and blue is just peak Chevrolet.

They did make a Spark EV for a while. It was a compliance vehicle to meet California’s requirements, so it didn’t have much range. No one bought them. Sounds like what you’re looking for is a Bolt. But even those don’t sell all that well. People prefer form factor over how the wheels are driven. Just look at the

Because consumers don’t want tiny electrics, they want electric Silverados and Tahoes and the like, which are coming.

The shredder overheated, that’s what happened.

I emailed the UAW to ask if a cause had been determined and will update this post if they respond.

Love the “Keep Buying Foreign” bumper sticker on a car built in Canada.

Even the Bay version looks better

So, who ever is currently in charge of Chevrolet’s design team (I suspect Michael bay) needs to be fired and has no business doing this.

Federal government sets the limit, therefore the state limit should not apply. CA is trying to leverage their size to bully everyone else into their limit which is against the purpose of how this country is ran. the whole reason we even have the electoral college is so that places like CA and NY can’t bully the rest

That’s cute you live in a state with a broken subway and shitty pizza

The Fed should be the only one setting the standard. if the states want a stricter standard then work with the fed on setting stricter standards. One state should not dictate the other 49!

Yep. CA is very very very close to doing extortion, not only on the auto makers but US citizens in general who are fine with following federal mandates.

Standards stricter than other states require, drives up cost and also makes some models not even worth producing. Car companies are not going to make models for different states, so California is effecting what other states can buy. So states don’t have a choice but to by defacto accept California’s standards.
