On the other side of the argument, if those countries created safety, emissions, etc. standards and held their domestic auto makers to those standards then would you be arguing against buying domestic? If the reason is because the niche market vehicles and brands will have to try harder and charge more so people can

Interesting, what is your take on $15/hr minimum wage?

Seeing as how the US market is one of the largest for Automobiles, I do not see any company not making cars for this market. Speaking of global markets, how to other countries handle this? China tariffs or makes you build them in China, as do many other countries. Its not a very radical idea.

2 things,

Right there with ya, i need to update my avatar picture.

Agreed.

Unless his/her experience involves only Detroit and or Flint Michigan.

True, one can wish though.

Tell that to the CEO of GM who out earned her counterparts.

I agree, but I think we may be surprised. There is probably some pent up demand for a VW SUV from people who had a GTI and now have a couple of kids and think they need a big vehicle. Only saying that the 2.0T can be the better engine if tuned, hell, even if not it will probably be close for most of the metrics.

I should have clarified, with a $600 tune it will be. For those pinching pennies, that’s a savings of over $500 from spec’ing the V6.

Porsche V8 in the new Atlas please! I mean some in the segment have a V8...

True. But i feel like the 2.0T will be faster, lighter and more fuel efficient. Hard to beat that sound though like you said.

Considering both drive trains are pretty established I dont see much issue there as long as you keep up with the SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE. Plus, the 2.0T with a tune seems like it could be hotter than the VR6.

Edit, looks like i sent that email to Patrick.

I see you got my email...

Gotta love those sweet sweet dividends with F.

Might want to double check your maths on that one, unless they get one hell of a group discount.

Now the question to be asked, investment to produce vs ROI (without Gov assistance), or better yet, energy to produce vs energy produced by said hydrogen. Thats where it all falls apart.
