“You have too many dolls.”

Except the doll collection is more diverse.

This is especially tone deaf right in the middle of what’s happening with Michigan State and the Olympic Committee and the USA Gymnastics board that needs to resign in its entirety.

Sometimes the art world truly steps up:

I hope people come on to the Stanford campus just to vandalize that stupid plaque.

Wonder what the quotes were that Stanford rejected.

May the student population of Stanford vandalize that shit daily with the quotes Doe herself wished to be presented.

I hope this shit gets smashed over and over and over again. The school’s attempt to sanitize the situation and turn it into some optimistic bullshit is disgusting. Women don’t need to be memorialized, worshipped, turned into super heroes or pillars of strength they need to not be fucking raped, beaten or killed. Fuck

It makes me pretty irritated to see so many people here on Jez rip into an enterprising young woman for being enterprising. I’ve concluded that people have an irrational hatred of the youths, particularly young women.

Yeah I’m still not going to cheer for her abuse. She asked a dumb question and made a dumb video and white moose went after her knowing how rabid their followers are, because white moose’s whole shtick is being a *tElL IT liKe iT iS* asshole. Darby shoulda picked another hotel, but I still feel bad that she’s being

Agree. Why should she be her brother-in-law’s keeper? I take no responsibility for the actions or thoughts of my in-laws—condemning them publicly would only serve to hurt my spouse.

No, she doesn’t. She’s not the one being accused. She’s not on trial. In fact, even talking about this is taking focus off the actual guilty party: James Franco. No woman—famous or not—should be hounded about the actions of her in-laws. A shitty man did some very shitty things and for some reason we’re discussing

Its almost like family dynamics are seriously fucking complicated and maybe we shouldn’t hold Franco’s sister-in-law accountable for his bad behavior.

My ex-brother-in-law had a lot of beliefs and behaviors that I found incredibly offensive. In private, I expressed my revulsion at him to my then-husband and close friends/family. But in public? Hell, no. My relationship with my in-laws was fragile at best, and my ex had such a fractured family already that I wasn’t

Why does she need to say anything? Why do we immediately turn to the closest woman and burden her with the responsibility of answering for some shitty man’s actions? Why does it always bounce back on women?

He reminds me of my shitbag ex who liked the idea of sleeping with men because it was taboo but wasn’t actually into men—and because his whole jam was using faux-progressivism to hide his abusive shit.

Does anyone else get the impression that “gay up until the point of intercourse” means, “I hate women, but goddamnit, I want to have sex with women”?

Something is happening. I had a quick trip to Sundance this year and women I’ve known for years, who’ve never been able to get their films much attention, are getting standing ovations. Women I’ve known who are hardened by the system broke down yesterday. It’s nuts. I’m seeing some attention on women-centric projects

I think their response was rude and uncalled for, a firm no thanks would of been fine. Sometimes places that don’t require a “service” offered even politely will often snub their noses at bloggers. It’s just mean and petty. On a lighter note, I love to think of someone walking away from the internet to go watch

My trick is that I didn’t watch the video :) I find pretty much all videos annoying and comprehend better by reading info than listening so I hate video monologues or whatever you’d call this genre of YouTube. I also hate this dumb lodge for regularly having “hot takes” and getting positive attention for douchey
