This is really shameful, but once when I was bored in Grade 9 Spanish class, I sketched on the back of my hand with a pen, and ended up drawing a swastika. Then I drew a Star of David on the back of my other hand, because I thought, “I’m being edgy,” “I need to balance this one out with it’s ‘contrary’ symbol,” “I’m

Eeeeh. You know how lots of teenagers/early 20's still smoke cigs despite there being very clear messaging these days about it being very, very bad for you? People of a certain age are inclined to rebel against things they are repeatedly told not to do. If a group of five teenagers, three of whom are POC themselves, pa

The juvenile system has vastly different goals than the adult criminal system. We shouldn’t be putting minors in jail except for the worst crimes in the code. Juveniles tend to have much better outcomes than adult offenders with the proper resources utilized in their cases.

Or also kids do dumbass things to shock or be edgy.

In my county, back in the dark days of the late ‘90's, there was a thing called “Teen Court.” Underage jabrones who got caught doing dumb, non-violent stuff could choose regular family court or Teen Court, which was run entirely by teenagers (but supervised by a judge).

I think jail time would be much more likely to hurt than help. We should be focused on rehabilitation in our justice system, not retribution.

But moving them into a racially segregated prison system will teach them something? Even non-racist people come out of prison aligned to hate groups because hate groups in prison also keep you from getting beat up or raped.

As someone who went through a Holocaust memoir phase in middle school, I have to say that this sentence is pretty cool. Those books had a really strong effect on me.

Id really like if more of the juvenile justice system were things like this. Throwing kids into detention centers rarely makes them into better citizens (surprise surprise); Id much rather see a focus on service and education that helps tie kids into the community.

I’m so conflicted about all of this. On the one hand, I want Trump’s administration to continue to be a smoldering dumpster fire so that even the dense idiots that voted for him eventually realize that competence has value.

On the other, I am worried about a smoldering dumpster fire turning into an actual

Yes, it’s the fact that despite anyone of reason and rationale telling them this was exactly what would happen, they voted for him anyway thinking it would be different for some reason.

Honestly? I think so. No one likes to admin that they were conned by a drifter.

In the United States, we’ve been primed to believe that wealth comes from hard work and intelligence. Since Trump is wealthy, this line of thought goes, he must be pretty smart. And, he’s saying the things his supporters “are all thinkings”. Isn’t that what we kept being told during the campaign? “He says what I’m

The article felt kind of Shakespearean- dude wants nothing more than love and respect, so much so he runs for President thinking that it’ll be the sure-fire way he’ll get love and respect. But upon becoming President, he finds himself neither loved or respected and is instead mainly alone, by himself, watching Cable

So I’m surrounded at work by Trump supporters. They seem to be doubling down on their support, despite the numerous questionable moves.

This entire article was terrifying, but I’m not gonna lie: it felt GREAT to know what all the protests and marches and lawsuits have really gotten under his thin, evil skin.

“Aides confer in the dark because they cannot figure out how to operate the light switches in the cabinet room.”

But Jean Ralphio had brown friends. I would take Jean Ralphio over what we have.

Basically, a Jean-Ralphio who is in charged of our nuclear codes.

Every word of that article is straight up amazing. Donald Trump is trapped in a Being There remake of his own making.
