They are totally serious. I lost a FB “friend” who posted a side by side meme of photos of Jackie and Melania. Then she commented about how nice it was to have a classy First Lady again.
If you actually read Mein Kampf, you’d see that racial purity isn’t really mentioned anyw- oh wait, it is? That’s the whole point of the book, you say? Well. Uhm. Everything is awkward now. Great!
You’re welcome! :)
That was his problem, not the fault of all trans people. Some people don’t understand how to handle dysphoria. Most of us know that dysphoria is never 100% all the time (I mean, is anything ever like that in the world?) and so that if one day we’re not feeling a lot of dysphoria, it doesn’t invalidate us.
Hiya Sam!!! I know you actually do support us from our time on Oppositelock (and of course, OppoMeet), so I do know your intentions are good. Anyway, it’s not as it may seem.
If I were a reporter, I’d be asking Ryan how he’s managing to stand up while missing a spine.
If this had happened with Obama I guarantee none of the Republicans would have deemed it a “betrayal”.
As a former Alabamian, I beg of you to please read this while he was ATTORNEY GENERAL:
Well that wasn’t the answer he was looking for, apparently, because he voted “Nay” when confirming her.
Jeff Sessions is a spineless toad who has fucked over the state of Alabama for years. Fuck his racist ass.
Everyone has an obligation to disobey unlawful orders and we shouldn’t forget it. I’m glad Sally Yates did the right thing; I have a feeling that is going to be a rare occurrence over the next four years.
Not really all that surprising. In 2015, the BSA did a survey of parents for their feelings on the BSA’s policies on homosexuality. My sense is that the demographic shifts that led to acceptance of gay marriage also led to the new policy.
No argument there, her cowardice and racism got an innocent boy brutally murdered. I have no interest in “redeeming” her or anything like that.
I think all the people saying some variation on “she’s a monster how dare he try to redeem her” are missing the point. Tyson is trying to show you that’s she’s not some extraordinarily evil cartoonish monster; she’s a regular person who turned out to be capable of doing something horrible. The point is the banality of…
Unfortunately, it is unsafe for me to wait for or work with racists on their redemption. I’ll allow white people to do it if they want, as long as they keep their friends as far away from me, and any power, as possible.
“...Donham’s lie didn’t kill Till, but it did ensure that her husband and brother-in-law got off scot free....” - And yet her lie did just that. A straight line can certainly be drawn from her lie to his death.
The south is full of “good hearted people” who honestly have no fucking clue how bat-shit racist they are. I grew up in Mississippi and I can tell you first hand that even though I could always see the disconnect, MOST of the white people around me could not. I’ve seen people transition and suddenly realize “oh shit,…
I don’t know, I think the sort of grandmotherly description of her brings the point home a bit. She can be both a “kind” old lady and a murderer by proxy, which is a form of white privilege, because that kind of contrast could pretty much only exist in a white person from that time and place. I think acknowledging…
