What the fuck has happened to this website.
What the fuck has happened to this website.
For christ, what has happened to this site?
In college, I watched Apocalypse Now while under the influence of something a bit more powerful/hallucinogenic than marijuana and let’s just say I felt that shit.
This was a bit spiteful and, if anything, gives ammunition to the point kingdom is attempting to make in that second screen grab. I don’t really agree with anything that is being argued in these two old posts, but nothing struck me as horrifically controversial. And, interpreting that second part to overtly suggest…
This is a great article, Jesse! Thanks for pulling it together.
bravo
Fuck yeah! I wonder if they’ll do a deep dive on the former’s alcoholic beverage of choice and the latter’s war crimes!
FUCK YEAH. Great movie.
The first scene of It from 2017. I’d argue that not only is it the scariest part of the film, but also it’s best scene. The rest of the movie, ehhhhhh not so much. But that first scene was so masterful.
Absolutely. It’s phenomenal. Both actors are knocking it out of the park, but Hunter’s (Jane’s) immediate reaction to Brooks (Aaron) professing his love for her is one of my favorite moments in any movie, ever. A true masterclass in acting.
I LOVE this movie. And, I LOVE Holly Hunter.
Yup, totally.
Ha! No way...
Hi Jesse! Thanks for your thoughtful response. I didn’t intend for my comment to come off so aggressively (though clearly it was written in that manner), and I’m a regular consumer of your and Dowd’s film criticism. My comment was more geared towards my surprise at the absence of PS on this list, and also the Best…
What the fuck is this site’s problem with Palm Springs?
1 - Saint Cloud, Waxahatchee
I like all of the above, but Saint Cloud is the one I go back to the most by a significant margin. So good.
I need to revisit that album. I’ve loved their prior stuff, but thought the most recent album was that memorable on first listen.
Totally! It’s such a wonderful film. I went in expecting it to be shamelessly derivative of Groundhog Day (an all-timer), and was completely taken aback by how much I enjoyed it (despite the similarities). Samber and Miloti had phenomenal chemistry. It was the perfect quarantine movie. Loved it.
Devs should be on this list.
