Man, this guy is essentially having a panic-induced breakdown on live television and it is one of the most tragically wonderful thing I have ever seen. Colbert is the man, and I think this is a great message, incredibly told, script-less as it may or may not be.

this looks hilarious

EXACTLY

God, I listened to a recent interview McGregor did on NPR, where he freely admits to changing some of the source material in order to make the movie even more "Rothian." Besides the fact that this literally makes no sense, it succeeded in pissing me off and I wish this movie never had to exist.

I've had the same 2001: A Space Odyssey poster hanging above my bed since my college days. It is, without a doubt, the coolest thing I own.

It needs to be said- Dana DeLorenzo is an absolute vision in that leather jacket.

I think my experience may have been better because, while I was confused on numerous occasions during the final third of the book, I had my own interpretation of what was going on. Later, I compared it to some commentary from Murakami himself and I was pretty close to what he was

Oh wait, I did find one major issue… where in the blue fuck is Hero?

I'm pleasantly surprised that this list actually gets it *mostly* right. Although, I would throw The Master in the number one spot.

I think I can best address your question if I knew exactly what about the second half of Wind-Up Bird you didn't like. For me, Wind-Up Bird is the best novel Murakami has ever written, entirely because it never sacrifices narrative coherence for surrealism and complicated themes, etc. To be sure, Wind-Up Bird very
