Amazon has left many offices but many offices have taken on more Amazon ever since FedEx gave up their share. My office is in that boat. The UPS guy on my route and I agree, UPS and USPS haven’t been calling the shots for awhile. It’s been Amazon for the past few years.

I guess I’m used to more of an iron fist. Our post master is no task master by any means. However, he doesn’t tolerate willfull disregard of the mail. The problem is and many unions have this issue, they protect EVERYBODY and it’s usually the shitty employees that take advantage of it. Most of the time if a carrier

The Postal Service has bent over backwards to accommodate Amazon. Where I deliver mail, Amazon has no interest in providing delivery service (North Dakota). Before you scoff, I’m in a college town so per capita we do pretty big numbers. Just yesterday I delivered three different bags of dog food. Two of them 50

Your carrier sucks. Did you take up the issue with Certified letter with your local post master. Intentionally and willfully doing something like that is grounds for immediate dismissal. Lots of financial documents are sent certified to verify that the receiver actually got it. Plus, it's considered ACCOUNTABLE MAIL.

Okay, most likely you’re on an unassigned route. Every route goes up for bids. If the open route doesn't get any bids, the next unassigned carrier is supposed to be "forced" onto that route. It sounds like your post office is struggling with understaffing. It's most likely that where you live is being covered by City

Yes, 17 an hour is AMAZING! Especially, when many of the vehicles don’t have heat, front wheel drive and are cobbled together with whatever spare parts they can find. It was 7 below zero where I deliver mail. It includes 10.37 miles of walking and we got 5 inches of snow overnight. So yeah, we don’t have to work for

Mail carrier here. AMA

I love cheese in my mashed potatoes. But I love gravy on them, too. I can’t reconcile them together. My grandfather was a Norwegian potato farmer and they take potatoes seriously. Perhaps more so than the Irish. He loved a good cheddar mashed, but when it when it came to gravy he never mixed them. I think that’s where

It’s weird to me that this stuff is so popular here in North Dakota. All of our grocery stores carry it and it’s often a featured item on one of the end caps. Personally, I LOVE this stuff. Dense, chewy and hearty. I have been known to turn a single can into a meal.

My mom, by her own admission is not amazing in the kitchen. That said, her pecan tarts and Mexican wedding cakes have befuddled me beyond belief. So much so that I just ask for them as my Christmas gift. Then, I gorge myself.

Exactly, I'm not wolfing them down because I think wow this is an amazing Cabot infused cracker.

I remember being 7 or 8 years old, spending summers at grandma and grandpa’s. Grandpa LOVED two cereals, Corn Flakes and Cracklin Oat Bran. I’m with you, I have been an old man since my early teens, too.

I agree. I love fresh apples. I have never been a fan of apple pie, crisp, crumble whatever. I do like a good, football sized apple fritter and apple butter isn’t something I pass up.

Went to a rummage sale and scored a PS2 with a box of 24 random games for 10 bucks. My PS3 had died and on my rummaging trip I was able to grab a slim for 30. That random collection of games included some gems, namely Champions of Norrath. I kept that, Freedom Fighters and MK: Shaolin Monks. Took all that and a box of

At the restaurant where I was the kitchen manager, we gave all kitchen staff a free meal up to $15.00. Servers and bartenders got up to $10.00. We also gave a 50% discount on the days they worked and 25% on their off days. But as somewhat decent line cook and I think a reasonably good guy, I made sure on the busy

We have a fantastic local butcher shop that allows the buyer to get ANY bacon they make in slab form. I have cut some large cubes off it (I usually go with their pepper slab) and planted them in a steaming bowl of ramen and eggs. So this post makes me happy!

So I had a hankerin’ for BBQ chips. I went through the snack aisle and the usual suspects were all accounted for. Being a garbage pit when it comes to snack food (and most other foods). I gave these a whirl. There a buck. I was stunned. There’s a nice BBQ tang, the mesquite isn’t overly artificial and there’s a nice

It’s not national and we can’t have beer in supermarkets in North Dakota. But I go with the heavyweight champ

I had four on Sunday. They are missing some heat but I wasn't disappointed. I was hoping they'd be like a Jack In The Box taco. Not quite there but I'd still eat them like it was my job!

Somehow I missed this. I am making it tomorrow night. I already destroyed a half White Castle cheeseburgers. Otherwise, I’d be in the kitchen right now.
