Thanks, Luiz. I enjoy this tournament because it’s weird and wonderful and occasionally takes place when nothing else is happening. The geography and economy of South America means half-empty stadiums but that just adds to the charm for some reason. And the occasional brutality, which is its own entertainment.

The best mascot of recent times is undoubtedly Hero the Hedgehog for the 2017 IAAF World Championships (track and field.) This video doesn’t do justice to how much he added to a not terribly exciting week.
