I read your thoughts further down the comments. I see your position and I disagree with it. You equate AI art to theft. Because in your mind, the mechanical process AI goes through to produce art, is too much like grafting dead pieces of a corpse into a living Frankenstein’s monster. I disagree.

Right there with you on the last part. 10 years ago I was doing art constantly and ended up with the usual problems of posting your work online, its a popularity contest. So I stopped posting stuff as often but slowly also just started making less. I still do make stuff, just gone from weekly to yearly some times. But

I mean, if “provides gender affirming care to trans children in consultation with a doctor” is sufficient evidence of abuse to take people’s children from them and throw them in jail, Cruz probably deserves the death penalty for this.

and that FoMo is exactly what Blizzard-Activision are trying to capitalize on here. Don’t break, do the grind, don’t let them win.

You aren’t taking the time to imitate X artists style, an AI is scraping that artist’s work so it can be black box photoshopped into a new form. Artists are the reason that the ai has anything to produce but they don’t get credit, they didn’t give consent, and they don’t get any money for it. AI art would be great, if

Then you haven’t been paying much attention for the last 34 years.

Any “shop contest” is an exercise in remixing existing art, is one example that jumps to mind.

Doesn’t the very existence of a new verified badge render the old blue check mark (that you will now have to pay for) pointless? Like, as it stands now, the blue check exists to tell other people that this account does indeed belong to the person who it says it belongs to, which is exactly what this new verification

Twitter and FB just combined to dump 20k tech workers on, at best, a soft job market at the same time. Its bad.

I’m no fan of Zuck or Meta, but let’s not be alarmist here. They are in no way “fucked.”

As if to prove everyone’s point about Kid Rock, along comes old Brandon here.

The whole TL;DR version is with the old inventory it was possible to make o.p. builds, under the new way it eliminated those o.p. builds

That’s kind of on you, though. Where do you think they’ll eventually end up if they can’t figure it out? As an aging father, I now realize my best work was getting my kids through childhood to self-sufficiency. Really, in the end, it’s all you can work towards and hope for. While it’s ultimately on them to step up,

It’s funny to think about how we have documented evidence that for at least the last several thousand years, older generations have always complained about younger generations being ignorant and not having any skills. It’s weird how they’re always wrong.

I like the idea of exploring the galaxy and finding abandoned factories/mines from a past boom.

Upper Level Capitalism in a nutshell, bay-bee!

Any game that offers an “Im a grown ass adult with two kids and I don’t have 10 hours a day to play games just let me see the cool shit” Mode gets a fat fucking gold star from me.

Crunch aside, even with a reasonable schedule, games usually don’t really all come together until the final 6 (or, usually, 3) months... Getting all the art finalized, the lighting applied, and all the code optimizations that let things actually run.
and on a game with massive crunch, it’s still the last 3 months,

...those monsters on Reddit and Twitter might finally be useful for something!

what im getting from this is that in order to see more behind the scenes footage of game development and a better understanding on how triple a games are produced, we need to generate takes so nightmarishly bad that developers will have no choice but to dunk on them
