To reiterate, its a kids cartoon. And the people raging against this style collapse into nostalgic weeping over the absolutely expressionless art styles that dominated American animation in the 80s and 90s (Timm and Dini and a *small* handful being the exception).

Never have been a horror fan. A friend of mine talked me into Midsommar telling me how messed up it was and how it freaked her out, only to find it was a less intriguing retelling of The Wicker Man.  (The original, not that travesty with Nicholas Cage.)

I think it’s a lot less strange than going into the comments section of a show that you don’t even watch to mock the people who watch it. That speaks to some major personality defects at play. Just a really sad situation overall.

The show (and some of the comics and other sources, if we want to still consider those canon) have hinted at the reasons:

Amen. They’ve all taken time to find their feet, but by the end they become amazing. I never thought I’d care as much about Rebels or Ahsoka as I do.

They started filming back in December (before it was even announced). They have almost the exact same time-per-episode as Mando, so not *that* fast...
