But she didn’t mix up the Kings. If she had she would have said that right away. She mixed up 2 of the black actors up for the same award. I don’t take offense to that and most people don’t. It’s trying to make it seem like she misspoke or we misunderstood her and then getting butthurt about no one falling for it

So, one of the most mediocre of mediocre white men thinks nothing of the Native peoples and full civilizations that were here before Europeans arrived?

Now playing

It’s actually in both; in FMJ the recuit is from Texas (and isn’t Vince D’Onofrio’s character, it was private cowboy) in O&G it’s the same line but the guy is from Oklahoma. Not sure if FMJ cribbed it from O&G or it’s just one of those lines that get recycled by the drill staff. Probably in some other movies as well.

And the Texan didn’t commit suicide

That sounds like Full Metal Jacket.

The discourse has evolved a LOT since I was a kid, the concepts of privilege and institutional racism existed but weren’t really clear 20 or 25 years ago. Even intersectionality was only starting to become a thing. The internet helped speed the discourse and has made it much clearer and I think a lot of us Gen Xers

While I don’t disagree (as a Gen Xer I know a lot of my peers fall to the siren song of “moderate” politics) I don’t think you ever have to worry about Gen X becoming “dominant” the reality is we’re such a small cohort and Millennials are so fast on our heels we’ll never achieve the kind of cultural sway that Boomers

I just love that pointing out the ways systemic racism and inequality have and continue to affect the lives of so many people (myself included) has been equated to fostering division.

That’s sort of back now, actually, as the new Beefy Potato-Rito is literally just a smaller version of the Cheesy Potato Burrito without sour cream. It’s only a dollar though, and you can add sour cream for another 45 cents, so you can get two ersatz mini-CPBs for almost the same price as the CPB.

Tickets in Brooklyn are usually about $16, but $30 for PA means everyone in the house can watch it, plus the people I share my account with. That’s over 10 people—even with some kids in the mix, that’s >$100 in tickets.

Oh come on, the B Ark was much smarter than this.

It came out in the before times, back when time made sense and had meaning.

I’d wait until you can play it on a next gen console (unless you have one already, then go for it!). On PS5 it’s like a whole new game with the better frame rate, faster inventory, quicker loading, haptic feedback, and trigger resistance (mimics trigger pull on actual guns, and every type of gun is different). I went

Limited Run has been doing these for a long time, and there are other boutique producers out there like iam8Bit, Super Rare Games, etc. over the last year I got several of the releases that I like the games for - Panzer Dragoon in a big chunky Saturn case being a highlight - but they did a release of Pod Racer made up

Mad Max was definitely one of my favorite sleeper hits of the last decade. I wish it got more love when it came out.

Seconded. When I watched the first cinematic teaser for that game, way back when, I said to myself “I can’t wait until this is the game of the month.”

So glad I kept holding off on Days Gone, waiting for it to be part of this program. My patience has finally paid off.

Despite it’s critical beatdown on release, the game sold like hotcakes. It was built by (and still maintained by) a team a fraction of a fraction the size of most AAA studios, with Wikipedia stating that as of 2020 they had a whopping 26 employees.

He abused authority, he shouldn’t be given a position of authority again. The fact that you’re pretending this is a really complex or confusing idea says a lot about YOU.
