There’s a whole thing about them stealing vaccines that’s seemingly never really referenced again or understood what those vaccines are for (sure, they’re for the camps because the GRC isn’t supplying them, but why make them a very specific plot point?). It sure feels like there was some editing there that lost some

More Tara Strong the better.

But she didn’t mix up the Kings. If she had she would have said that right away. She mixed up 2 of the black actors up for the same award. I don’t take offense to that and most people don’t. It’s trying to make it seem like she misspoke or we misunderstood her and then getting butthurt about no one falling for it

So, one of the most mediocre of mediocre white men thinks nothing of the Native peoples and full civilizations that were here before Europeans arrived?

Oh yeah, the Power Broker bit was a total miss. Aside from maybe Val, the show didn’t really present any possibilities other than Sharon. They shouldn’t have presented the identity as a mystery to the audience, since it clearly wasn’t written as one.

She should have just looked at the camera, winked, and said one line like “well, okay then”, “god bless america”, “thanks Cap”, “Check... And... Mate”, or “Hail Hydra”...

And she was walking by how many people while blurting into a phone about selling U.S. Government secrets, right outside whichever building that was supposed to be?

I think skrull is the only way to save this plot development. I’ve never liked the mcu neutering of the skrulls as villains anyway, and we know secret invasion is coming, so hopefully it’s revealed Ben Mendehlson was playing the long con and Sharon is part of that somehow.

Oh shit! I forgot about Armor Wars. That makes sense.

Secret invasion doesn’t have to be the Skrulls - they aren’t the only shapeshifters in the marvel universe.

Now playing

It’s actually in both; in FMJ the recuit is from Texas (and isn’t Vince D’Onofrio’s character, it was private cowboy) in O&G it’s the same line but the guy is from Oklahoma. Not sure if FMJ cribbed it from O&G or it’s just one of those lines that get recycled by the drill staff. Probably in some other movies as well.

And the Texan didn’t commit suicide

That sounds like Full Metal Jacket.

Deserves better? This is the most character development she had in ALL of her appearances.

Your selectively edited quote leaves out the most important part:

The discourse has evolved a LOT since I was a kid, the concepts of privilege and institutional racism existed but weren’t really clear 20 or 25 years ago. Even intersectionality was only starting to become a thing. The internet helped speed the discourse and has made it much clearer and I think a lot of us Gen Xers

While I don’t disagree (as a Gen Xer I know a lot of my peers fall to the siren song of “moderate” politics) I don’t think you ever have to worry about Gen X becoming “dominant” the reality is we’re such a small cohort and Millennials are so fast on our heels we’ll never achieve the kind of cultural sway that Boomers

Yeah Sam could just as easily have had the installation be made using the fake death story Isaiah had. It’d be the safest way to do it, and the people responsible would be a lot less worried about his story if they believed he’d been dead for decades.
You’re right about it not being obvious to everyone. My whole family

Okay, some of you called this from the moment the show was announced: it would end being called Captain America and The Winter Soldier. And it was. Give yourself a pat on the back. Though he’s not The Winter Soldier any longer and that was actually his journey, so it should have been called Captain

That’s sort of back now, actually, as the new Beefy Potato-Rito is literally just a smaller version of the Cheesy Potato Burrito without sour cream. It’s only a dollar though, and you can add sour cream for another 45 cents, so you can get two ersatz mini-CPBs for almost the same price as the CPB.
