Ha, I’ve been telling my wife they were going to use the Elder Wand loophole to get the Darksaber to Bo too. I’m less ok with it...it’s profoundly lazy, but then again, this season of Mando doubles down on being a live-action cartoon, with the narrative depth of a Power Rangers show. Which is fine for the franchise’s

It’s an odd mix of things that I didn’t know I wanted. The Tetris-like cargo management, the increasing hallucinations if you stay out in the fog too long (watch out for phantom rocks!), and I personally find the core loop satisfying, even the way the boat controls.

To be fair, most fishing game mechanics are glorified QTEs, the ones in this game are not demanding.

While I love the Mercury (and still have the figure), there have been a lot of great figures and toys from Tron over the years. Most recently, 6" figures of the original Tron, Sark, and Flynn. Medicom did some fun sets in the early 2000s too.

I’m still not fond of the New Republic being portrayed as uncaring doofus bureaucrats, but I guess that’s how the First Order happens so it tracks.

Here’s a TL;DR:

More-or-less, yes. Return of the Jedi was Lucas’s first film without producer Gary Kurtz and it shows, it commits many of the same plot retread/fan service sins that The Force Awakens would years later. Kurtz was the one guy who would say NO to him. Marcia Lucas was called in to help edit RoTJ (she had done much of

There’s another comment on a Mandalorian thread that to me, highlights why I’m glad there aren’t more aliens playing key roles in Andor - it’s really, really hard (and expensive, don’t forget) to execute the subtle emotes, body language, and subtext we see in the dialog-heavy Andor scenes with a puppet, rubber masked

Which is so fucking dumb since the Resistance represents the ruling power in the galaxy at the start of the sequel trilogy.

There’s a slight nuance to the Resistance that the filmmakers failed to exploit - at the beginning of the Sequel Trilogy, the New Republic and First Order have been in the midst of a cold war and the Resistance are a splinter faction of doomsday preppers who know open war is coming.

I know I’m giving the writing too

The Pershing episode even makes that point explicit, when he’s talking to the elites on Coruscant who barely register that there’s been a regime change.

I’m not happy that the end of RotJ was undone.

People are jumping to Thrawn, when the simplest answer is that Gideon is behind this. It’s unfortunate that an extremely important revelation gets lost in the banter between the ex-imperials and Pershing: Gideon escaped on the way to the War Tribunal.

Add to that the fact that Pershing just outed Kane’s identity to the

Let me spell it out for you - it’s grift because there’s no endgame. CIC is selling hope and fantasy and at this point cannot possibly meet expectations, so the sunk costs fallacy rolls on, and people keep giving them money to chase a dream that is always just out of reach.

The project is an object lesson in scope

What is the difference between “grift” and “scammy practices” in your mind? Your Early Access Hell theory doesn’t hold water...that was THEIR choice, and their failure to prioritize their backlog efficiently and ruthlessly for YEARS.

Ok, how about calling it a Ponzi Scheme?

Y’all are barking up the wrong tree, obsessed with box office receipts. Certainly that’s a convenient excuse to oust her, but she helped create the toxic, unsustainable environment in the VFX industry that simply can’t keep up with the amount of content being created. Remember those articles last year from frustrated

Being a barista means that the entire world gets to tell you to make that latte, peasant. Doesn’t matter if it’s a tech worker or someone working at a nail shop. In that moment, assholes like to flex that tiny bit of power over another person, and the young, nouveau riche workers of any lucrative-industry-du-jour are

It doesn’t matter whether it’s Silicon Valley proper or any other global tech hub, the economic forces are the same. Amazon and Microsoft did the same to the Seattle area, even before the Meta, Google, and others set up shop there. The cost of living is oppressive, and because Seattle doesn’t have a state income tax, l

Did you forget that she started out as a fellow religious zealot in Death Watch? She has extremist tendencies, with an occasional attack of conscience. Maul winning the Darksaber was the only thing that made her break with DW.
