The tone of this piece, from calling Gosling's casting in Blade Runner distracting to acting like Netflix is some cinematic ghetto, was very strange and I guess that counts doubly since the hook is that these movies are supposed to be a bright spot in the upcoming apocalypse.

But they don't make movies like Lawrence of Arabia or The Searchers anymore. There are no big thoughtful blockbusters outside of Christopher Nolan's output.
