The two are not necessarily mutually exclusive. I speak from personal experience.

Well, at the time, she was ridiculed for wanting to better herself intellectually. I think she was quite bright, but poorly educated. And I hate the contempt people have for her — she was smart enough to create a persona that has survived well past her death. That isn't the work of a stupid person.
I really wish she got a bit more credit for having intellectual curiosity.
I'm being bitch for because I am speaking out against assholes about my pain? Fuck you.
This is cruel and inhumane.
How does Yahoo do that?? It drives me nuts. Suddenly I am getting ads and weird search results - I can't even find the name of a local restaurant. Lo and behold, my default browser is switched to Yahoo. I didn't do it....is is bug...are they hacking our phones?
Based on my experience, I figured their business model was surreptitiously changing the default search engine on my browser.
Then how are men able to do it in other scenarios? I see dudes sitting in church for hours every week without splaying, or men sitting straight and politely in a chair during long job interviews and they seem to manage fine. Hardly any of them have tears streaming down their faces from the pain of their crushed nuts.
Unfortunately I don't think of Jez as particularly feminist, at least not in the way I was taught. Feminism I was taught is that men and women are completely equal. The only job a woman can't do is be a sperm donor and the only job a man can't do is be an egg donor. After that, it's all open. That's not something Jez…
JESUS. I am always alarmed by the sheer entitlement. I walked onto the subway one time, noticed three men taking up 2 seats each with their bags next to them, looked pointedly at each of them and not 3 seconds later, each of them pulled their backpacks onto their laps. I felt like a schoolmarm but didn't care because…
Are the MRAs here already? That was fast.
This makes me happy. I will say since y'all have been talking about it, I've noticed this literally every time I am on the train. The other day this guy was sandwiched between two elderly women and he was practically spread eagle. They were completely squished. It's completely ridiculous.
What's bizarre to me is how a lot of men don't seem to ever even think about how much space they take up. As a woman, that's on your mind everywhere you sit, every time. I don't know what it would be like to have never even thought of that before.
Can you guys do this bit on planes next, please. That's the worst!!
Maybe it's because I'm not a woman
Didn't someone once say that he who is wisest is him who admits he knows nothing? I've found, equally paradoxically, that, as a white person, I may contribute less to the system of racism the more I recognize just how racist I truly am.
Beyoncé is a feminist messenger? I admit that I don't pay all that much attention to her...what've I missed? Someone please help me out.
Pure luck. He had an acquaintance that he had chemistry with who makes it no secret that her marriage is open. He thought it through, asked me how I felt about it, and then asked her if she wanted to get together sometime. They've been really honest with each other and put down ground rules and everything.
I had a horrible pregnancy and wanted to murder everyone I came into contact with for the full 10 months (and for the next few months after that to be honest.) My husband is AMAZING and while I never took my rage out on him, I also did nothing else than lie in bed or on the bathroom floor all day and he did everything…
My awesome ex could not handle my pregnant emotions, and decided getting in my face and calling me a cunt was the slickest way to settle things. Then, after the baby arrived, he enrolled in college and I was instructed never to bother him, since he was taking a full load of courses. He would join us for dinner- that…
