Like I said, the part change itself would have been a very small one and at the time could have seemed very unimportant, saying nothing for the reason for the change or its future implications.

It's very possible Ms. Barra knew nothing about the parts changes to the ignition cylinder. I find it unlikely that the executive director would be made aware of such a minuscule change that at the time would have seemed so unimportant.

Yup, I have stomped the floorboard many times when driving an automatic. Clipped the brake pedal once too. That scared my passengers nicely, hahah.

I've forgotten to shift into 5th a few times in a 5-speed and I pretty much always forget 6th if I am driving a 6-speed (never owned one). Then I proceed to get back into my 5-speed car and try to grab the nonexistant 6th gear. Thankfully there is a lockout on reverse.
