I wouldn't disagree on the automated manuals replacing automatics. Who knows, they might just, at least in sporty cars. I don't see them ever becoming popular outside of the enthusiast world, though. Most people don't think about what they're doing while driving as is, so do we really want to put another burden on…

My GC is my daily driver as well, which along with the manuals in the GC being pretty hit or miss, I went with the automatic. I didn't feel the manual was vastly superior in this particular case.

Depends on the automatic, really. I rather enjoy the auto in my Genesis Coupe. 8 speeds, 3 different shift modes, including full manual with flappy paddles. It shifts reasonably quick for a traditional automatic, and I don't really miss operating a clutch too much. I do agree that some cars just need to have a manual…

I was sort of making fun, but seriously now, if the moral of the story is you can have fun driving anything, then why can't you have fun driving an automatic?
