They just took it from recordings of his stage act. There’s now a bunch of questioning of Woody’s sexuality that makes the film pretty awkward.

Oh, I get it. You were never unemployed because your family always provided you with a job.

Oh, dear lord. Bloviate much?

Yep. And I bet you know a lady with twins named Oranjello and Lemonjello, too.

That cart full of steaks and seafood still doesn’t qualify as “abuse” as you have no idea how many people that food is going to! They are allowed to feed their entire family, you know. Or, do you now want to limit what kind of food they are allowed to eat from every angle you can think of?

So you care more to whine about a problem than to actually correct it? (Likely outcomes notwithstanding, a problem not reported is a problem not fixed.)

For someone that seems so passionate about apparent rampant abuse, why did you not take action to stop it?

Even if it is steaks and seafood, there is a max amount available for SNAP (although as other people have pointed out, EBT cards can access more than SNAP), so whether they’re buying beans or lobster, they’re spending the same amount.

I know this for a fact, not one instance but many.

is meanwhile paying for their lexus/tahoe.

No, it still is. Their experiences are not recorded, confirmed, catalogued, and placed alongside experiences where no fraud is reported to determine rate and importance.

oh, the anecdotal “welfare queen”

I’ve been approached at least 4 times in my life, at different grocery stores, by women and men, and asked if I would like to use their SNAP card to purchase $300 worth of groceries for $150 in cash. They would shop with me, and check out for me. This type of abuse happens a lot.

I would also point out that in many states garnished child support is often placed into an account accessible through the Ebt system. So, someone may be utilizing unrestricted funds to purchase items, just using the Ebt card as that vehicle.

The post acknowledges that abuse exists. You witnessing it a handful of times is just anecdotal evidence. That is exactly why they do reviews and investigations into fraud because although what you witnessed may be true, your experiences do not equate to it happening a lot or support evidence of a wide-spread trend of

What frustrates me about this is that people love to complain about SNAP fraud when even if some of it was fraud, the amount we spend on that is NOTHING compared to what we spend on the military or healthcare. This is screaming over fractions of pennies.

Why the prohibition on hot foods? That seems counter intuitive. When I go to Safeway, their deli has deals on hot foods that beat even frozen counterparts like the roasted chicken and meatloafs.

Thank you for this. I work in nutrition advocacy and this is all true and really, really important to get out to the public.
