Which actually means Supercars is using a less-advanced “differential” (if it’s a spool, can you really call it a differential?) than NASCAR.

The NYT article that this story is based on is discussing CO2 emissions, and that’s directly related to fuel consumption.

Because Volkswagen dashboard lights didn’t already cause an emotional rollercoaster.

I mean, the Supra and GT-R are also both a racing chassis with a Supra and a GT-R body grafted on.

It is worth noting that Musk did claim that at least one car would have seven seats installed. (You could put a roll cage in and just have the seats there, even if only the fronts are usable...)

If I had to guess, there’s probably something in the laws enabling CAFE that don’t allow the EPA and NHTSA to change the test cycles from the 1978 incarnation of CAFE (although they probably could be careful to always apply the derived 5-cycle formulas whenever reporting anything on it?), whereas they have freedom on

...now I wonder if the license suspension penalties (which are not just the points in Ohio) apply if you don’t have a license, if you get an OVI on a bicycle in Ohio.

54.5 MPG isn’t 54.5 MPG. The 54.5 MPG CAFE target is on the 1978 test cycle, not the current test cycle. Looking at model year 2019 cars in the fuel economy data file, 54.5 MPG CAFE translates to about 38.6 MPG combined on a window sticker.

Blohms to the left of me, Fokkers to the right, here I am, stuck in the battle with you?

Not so. The hybrids do have a few more hp than the standard 4-cylinders, but the V6s have about 100 more hp than either.

My understanding is that it’s only what’s allowed for sale, although it’s also possible that some cities restrict them from entering certain regions (although those restrictions tend to focus on diesels more than gasoline vehicles).

A lot of motorcycles got catalytic converters with the Euro 4 regulations taking effect for motorcycles couple years ago (and a lot of models got discontinued as a result around then), but it’s still a lot less advanced than what’s on cars.

Looks like an error created in the Jalopnik article. The source article says CO, not CO2, which would indicate less complete combustion in the motorcycles.

Yeah, that’s my interest in meat-substitute burgers, I’ve cut out farmed ruminant meats from my diet (with exceptions for food that would otherwise go to waste, but that’s rare) for global warming reasons.

My interest in meat alternatives is purely environmental.

I wonder why that is:

I would be extremely surprised if they didn’t, honestly.

Outside of North America, they never stopped making the Yaris. It’s just here where we get the rebadged Mazda2.

Honestly, given what he’s done in LMP2 since losing his F1 funding... fuck, I can almost see it.

Unless the turbocharger system was detonation-limited at near sea level.
