They probably mean to say that he was the one to create the Death Star... But then again, you never know.

Soooo this is our next-gen version of Battlecruiser 3000 AD?

I’ve only really liked Stephenson’s Snow Crash; I’ve tried reading a lot of his other work but they never clicked. After I saw the (I think Charlie Jane’s) pre-review of Seveneves on here, I liked the premise so I got the book for my birthday. Spent two weeks reading it through.

Not Tatooine. Different desert world - Jakku.

But regardless of group size, it’s like high school gym class all over again: someone’s going to be picked last. Or next-to-last or third-to-last… That sucks.

the next epic chapter delivers global catastrophe on an unimaginable scale.

Bah. Doesn’t mean they SHOULD. The whole way Hollywood/entertainment media works just bugs the crap out of me. And so do the masses who support such crap-ass movies to the point a sequel *has* to be made so they can rake in more $$.

I'm a longtime freelance writer and a developer for one of the most venerable tabletop wargames out there that deals with big stompy robots that shoot at each other. (My day job, however, involves content marketing and strategy for nonprofits...) I came to io9 when Rob Bricken moved from ToplessRobot and I haven't

I'm not a defined 'hardcore' Destiny player; far from it. I've only logged just over 4 days of play, despite having it since Release Day. I've been so pumped for this game, I dropped $$$ for the Ghost Edition, even.

He rose; the world shattered below.

Ugh, I absolutely dislike these new cover ideas. Too YAF-fy and colorful for such a longstanding series.

One of my all-time favorite birds. My grandad was in charge of base security at Danang, where they had Blackbirds during Vietnam. He loved these planes and got to know several of the crews. (Took these at Udvar-Hazy.)

Oh hell I hate these things. I live inside the Beltway in DC and they infested our shed; I discovered this little fact after we'd already bought the house. TWO YEARS of pervasive, every-three-months bug bombing curtailed their infestation, but THEY. WON'T. DIE. They still manage to wander inside during the fall and

Oh, granted with the size. But the accuracy is definitely more refined. And yes, the USPTO mentioned that it's not a majority that's needed for offense, just a sizable composite. Which they believe was proven by the plaintiffs.
