The thing about early episodes of The Twilight Zone is how hopeful they often were. This is the perfect example. It’s far more poignant than misanthropic or cruel. I get why the show earned the darker reputation it has, but it diminishes how open and vulnerable the show could be.
I mean, most of these songs have been totally forgotten by young millennials and Gen-Z’ers. So, you know, time is the great equalizer.
