It’s not you, it’s not actually dark mode but a black theme. The real dark mode Google is working on will not have the white background. You can see it in Chromium.

Please correct the article, this is not supposed to be Chrome’s dark mode. The actual dark mode is still in development but can be previewed in Chromium. What you’re discussing is just a new theme and isn’t the same. It looks like other smaller news outlets are using your story to also report this incorrectly.
