I think part of the problem is that, at least in my generation and experience (I’m 32 from the US), “fujoshi” was taken to refer specifically to women who were obsessed with yaoi/shonen-ai/BL. Like, yaoi paddles, “who’s the seme and who’s the uke?”, referring to gay relationships IRL as “yaoi,” refusing to see past…
She doesn’t have much involvement, but as the owner of the IP, chances are she benefits monetarily from it, and with more exposure comes more chances for merchandising and such... which then puts even more money in her pockets that she can use to continue working to harm trans people. In this case, it’s not even the…
I looked at the Girlfriend Reviews chat from the video where they stopped early because of it. There wasn’t any “bullying” there, at least not that I saw. Several people expressed disappointment that they were platforming the game at all and mentioned that JKR is actively supporting things that legitimately harm trans…
It doesn’t seem that not buying the game is that easy, though. Look at how many people *are* buying it and loudly crowing about it, especially in response to people saying “hey, JKR is transphobic as fuck and actively working to harm people. Please reconsider supporting her fictional universe.”
I mean, it’s not just about trans issues, as important as they are. Rowling’s views and actions regarding transgender people are repugnant, which is a large part of why there’s so much pushback on the game (being a high-profile release for Rowling’s franchise), but.
Assassin’s! .... Creed? Val... ah- hah!
I saw this going around yesterday and didn't really think much of it - I don't watch his streams and hadn't really heard of him. This article mentioning his name, though, made me realize... Atrioc was one of my college roommates lmao. Definitely not how I ever expected to see him again.
Even worse - it’s been ruled several times that police heredon’t actually have to protect people.
lmao yeah I figured it wouldn’t go well (I knew he met his end but not the details). I’ve been avoiding really looking into the game so I wasn’t sure about what the pushback on it was, though I’d seen some bigot bullshit and I know the TLoUII subreddit was a cesspool lol. I have a copy, just haven’t gotten around to…
Fair point, yeah. For me, it’s the mix of slow decline and then death that I think would make it harder to watch - it’s on their own terms and sounds legitimately beautiful, but I tend to stay away from grimmer media other than horror in general, and I’ve had some health scares in my family lately that aren’t helping…
Noted! I have a copy, I just haven’t actually gotten around to playing it yet. I have I think one or two spoilers, but that’s about it. I’ll try and keep it that way.
From a 32-year-old gay guy: I hope you get that. Hang in there.
I still haven’t gotten around to TLoU2, but I really want to. I know there was a lot of fervor about it, both positive and negative, and I’m curious about why.
Ehhhh, it’s not a plot hole for something to happen off-screen, you know? Plot holes are gaps in consistency/logic in a thing’s storytelling. How Gladio got a scar or exactly how Ignis was blinded in the middle of a cataclysmic event isn’t really important to the story itself. At least Ignis’s DLC gave more…
Ah, gotcha. That’s more fair, though honestly, I don’t really agree? From the clip and his laugh, I get the sense it was more of a joke and a “I can’t really talk about this right now since Square has us focused on PS5" than “just buy Skyrim” or a Microsoft-level “if you don’t like always online, just buy a 360!”
The DLCs that were canceled weren’t going to be canon story beats; they were alternate universe scenarios, so I wouldn’t really blame them for the game feeling unfinished. imo the DLC we actually got had some good characterization but didn’t even contain anything particularly necessary for the story - they helped…
Huh...? Why Elon Musk? A joke about what platforms the game is going to be on doesn’t mean Yoshida’s some egomaniacal right-wing douche.
Uh, wasn’t he just joking...? imo his laughing makes it sound like he’s saying he can’t really comment on it so he’s goofing.
