Pepe’s definitely been co-opted, but I feel like there are also a lot of people who still use it in the spirit of the original, not the alt-right bullshit. I really wish people would stop using it, since it makes it ridiculously difficult to tell when it’s a dogwhistle and when it’s just “gamer culture,” but.... ugh.
