I mean, it *has* been co-opted.
I mean, it *has* been co-opted.
Pepe’s definitely been co-opted, but I feel like there are also a lot of people who still use it in the spirit of the original, not the alt-right bullshit. I really wish people would stop using it, since it makes it ridiculously difficult to tell when it’s a dogwhistle and when it’s just “gamer culture,” but.... ugh.
I personally don’t mind the joycons at all, but I don’t exactly have large hands, haha. I know some of my friends have trouble with the joycons and it’s a pretty common thing--from what I’ve read, the Steam Deck feels really comfortable if that’s the case!
The longest gap...? Only if we count XIV in there. Which I love, I’ve been playing for nearly a decade, but I feel like most people see it as separate haha
From what I’ve seen, it does depend on the game/settings. It seems like it gets Switch-like battery life pretty easily when it’s not running an AAA release...
I’m so, so, so torn about this. I’m really excited because I have such a ridiculous Steam backlog, and the ability to use mods on some games is really appealing (from the Yosuke romance mod for Persona 4 Golden to QoL mods for The Witcher 2 — maybe I’ll finally get into the series!), but the analogue sticks look…
Love this piece!
It doesn’t help that a major aspect of the vaccine, lowering the severity of breakthrough cases, has been turned into “well, with the vaccine, if you get it, it’s minor and it’s just a regular cold pretty much!”, despite the potential for spreading it as well as for the long-term COVID symptoms. I don’t want anyone to…
My genuine reaction to the headline was “because Pokemon fans seem to love getting angry about the series”.......................
oh my god it’s finally happening
idk, there are plenty of people who are hardcore players that also do free-to-play. I think we can discuss the amount of planning and strategy that can go into some gacha games without painting everyone as a gambling addict.
Holy cow, I didn’t know she was a trained opera singer! That’s amazing!
I only know of Mouse in the context of CDawgVA, but I really like what I’ve seen of her! They have such a great sibling dynamic, and Mouse herself is really funny. I’m glad she’s getting the attention she deserves, especially with how difficult things must be for her medically.
I’ve never really been a fan of them, if I’m honest. I remember once reading a Destructoid article they wrote waaaaaaay back when that ended up insulting anyone who owned a 3DS, and it seemed weirdly childish and... well, gamer-y. So I didn’t really pay attention to them.
Yup, that’s a major issue as well. I just didn’t want to spend too much time responding to someone who’s pretty much an obvious troll, haha.
Vaccinated people can still catch COVID-19. Vaccinated people who are immunocompromised are still at greater risk, should they catch the disease. Not everyone can get vaccinated; some actually cannot get the vaccine for medical reasons. Children younger than 5 cannot get the vaccine yet in the USA, and not all of the…
Don’t forget, this wasn’t solely about NFTs; it was partially in response to another content marketplace, Gumroad, lying about considering them, harassing a former contractor, and then attempting to expose at least one user that publicly disapproved of their actions. Oof.
I got it because my bf watches NL too and he’s a delight. The game is so fun! It’s very arcadey in the best way.
It’s not just a narrative that’s “sprung up,” though. Fans weren’t happy with ESB; it was divisive. For example:
As much as I adore P4 as a whole and consider it probably my favorite game, you’re probably right that it’s a little weaker overall than 3 or 5. I think the characters are probably the most developed and feel like real friends, but the actual narrative itself is a touch weaker than the other two imo. It really bugs me…
