That’s the whole point of politics: You swing for the fences and then compromise with your opponents to create a ‘reasonable’ plan.

The only problem is that nowadays the Republican/Tea party think that compromise is for pussies and they vote anyone out who even dares to TALK about compromising with Democrats.

Like many of Sanders’ proposals, I think the realistic hope is that the “middle” will move closer to the actual middle if the “left’s” position is defined by Sanders. And that people will listen to him and pressure their Representatives to take meaningful action.
