Last I saw, Messina’s character had become a controlling, abusive piece of shit. Which was really sad for my husband and me, because we loved their relationship at first. I hope Messina’s character dies this season.

I mean I hope it’s a joke? Ellen likes to feature kids tap dancing, not dressed up as a murderous clown
Not believing in parole is a valid stance. There are some parties who need to be removed from society for good. This lady is a prime example. If she were not a pretty, white woman, we wouldn’t even be having this conversation. People are fundamentally uncomfortable with punishing pretty, white girls.
We don’t like to talk about it.
Did your friends turn you into a vampire too?
These are exceptionally well done, but I still find the thirst to be on Ellen grating. I’m totally open to the idea that I’m just being a cynical asshole though.
I don’t care what you’re dressed like —DO NOT TAKE PHOTOS ON RAILROAD TRACKS.
I say this every time this comes up: if Van Houten were truly remorseful, she’d stop trying for parole and accept her punishment.
How long is an appropriate sentence for five murders?
Actually, other than Charlie himself and Tex, the men have been paroled. This little freak show girl still refuses to explain why she killed Mrs. LaBianca or anything about her criminal participation in the cult. No parole for someone who is still avoiding responsibility for her crime seems like a solid choice.
“50 years is life in prison.”
No “rehabilitation” or parole for multiple 1st degree murders, sorry. Punishment.
Of course she’s a model prisoner. Doing everything someone tells her to do is...kinda her wheelhouse.
This was a pretty infamous case, not just for the sheer scale and randomness of the crime but the complete lack of remorse that they expressed for a long time steer the crime. I don’t know how many mass murderers get parole where you live but it’s pretty rare in the US for anyone to get out on parole after something…
Yeah, she did it 50 years ago, who cares anymore!
The kids a lost cause. Give it to him.
I don’t mean to be a stickler, but he didn’t witness the devastation, didn’t speak with any of the displaced residents or rescue staff. Aside from that, great Tweet! What he did was the equivalent of spending an hour layover in Heathrow and then gushing about your vacation in London.
Guess who Betsy DeVos hired to head a unit that investigates for-profit college fraud? JUST! GUESS! Okay, I’ll tell you: Julian Schmoke, a former official at for-profit college DeVry University, which recently agreed to a $100 million settlement for allegedly defrauding students.
“Folks, I know extortion. I have done all the best extortion. Yuuuuge sums of money extorted.”
