Well so do I, but Maher doesn’t generally bother to differentiate between the religion and its practitioners in his ridicule. It’s frustrating as hell that he’s possibly the most prominent outspoken atheist on television.

If these are the only articles you’re seeking out here, then yeah it would seem that way. In actuality, they’ve toned the political content at the AV Club way down lately, presumably because there’s about 50 other sites in the Kinjaverse that beat their readers over the head with politics.

There’s a world of difference between hating Islam and hating Muslims. Maher either hasn’t figured that out or doesn’t give a shit.
