This one was definitely a stinker. The last time one of the Simpsons ended up in a coma, it was in a clip show, and it still had more emotional resonance than this sloppy mess.

My point being that “...the Royals don’t flaunt what they have”  is undercut by the fact that *who* they decide to marry is as ridiculously ostentatious as the weddings themselves.

“America isn’t crazy enough to elect Trump.” -- A whole lot of us, 2016.

Thank you for making my point for me.

I hope Gamera makes an appearance, as he is friend to children!

At least according to some of the others who have posted here, they’re not particularly neutral. They can and do exercise some amount of political influence, as well.

Half a million bucks for the wedding gown alone. That’s all I gotta say in response.

Hey man, you do you.

God save that queeb!

That’ll learn ‘im!

Well, then you’re missing out.

Spray-tanned and well-rested.

Yeah, it’s hard for me to cast aspersions on the Royals when we have our own fucking tangerine Caligula in the White House. But I sure as fuck won’t be cheering his next wedding on, either.

I don’t get celebrity worship, either; at least the famous-for-being-famous fucks. If I’m excited to see a celebrity, it’s because something they have created appeals to me, not their ancestors.

They don’t pay to upkeep the estates, either. That’s what the grant is *supposed* to be used for. From what I’ve read, that’s been something of a bone of contention between the Royals and the government recently: The grant got bumped to 25% a few years ago, in order to pay for Buckingham Palace renovations. Some of

From what I’ve gathered in the past two minutes googling this shit, the royals don’t own most of the Crown Estate, the public does. The Sovereign Grant is a fixed value based on 15% of the profits from the Crown Estate at least, and it can’t be reduced, even if the Estate’s profits fall. It’s also tax-exempt. So

If I were British, I’d get a little pissed that I had to pay to support shit like this:

Is that fucking wedding over now? I don’t get how regular people in Britain resist the urge to go full-French Revolution on the Royals.

Is that, like, an international date line thing? Do these people think apocalypses work like eclipses?
