The worst death in The Raft is when Deke gets pulled by the alien oil slick through a two inch gap in the raft they’re on. As the creature pulls him through, inch by inch, blood spurts out of his body like toothpaste out of tube.

The bit in The Raft where the dude gets pulled between the boards disturbed the dickens out of me when I read it in my early teens.
