I prefer to weigh in weekly so I don't obsess over the inevitable daily or even hourly fluctuations.

I only text while stopped at red lights. I used to do it far too often, but realized how dangerous it was pretty quickly. Now that I have an iPhone it's pretty much impossible anyway.

Everyone does direct connect at my school. No one, to my knowledge, has gotten in trouble for DC, but I know of a lot of people who were fined and banned from the internet for 2 weeks for using bit torrents.

I don't understand why Google would add stock tracking functionality when gCal is lacking much more important things (imo!) like a to-do list!

The company I work for won't allow Firefox for "security" reasons (*cough* BS) so I installed Opera instead. I'm just waiting to get a nastygram for that, though. I'm far more productive in a tabbed browser.

It really depends. A lot of times I just don't have enough to do. I'm not sure if that counts!

I use "View as HTML" any time I'm trying to get some quick information out of the document. I rarely use the docs feature, even though I personally use docs for some of my own files.

My favorite so far is still the photo box charging station. That's the only one I'd really want sitting out in my room.

I agree 100% about the NSFW ads and GTD posts.

I prefer the integration of using SMS rather than a web app for IMing. (As in, the # of messages being indicated on the home screen, the sound of receiving a message, etc.)

I agree! I just wish iCal and gCal synced in two directions. I think there are some (not free) programs for that, though.

I've done the navy shower plenty of times - mainly when the shower drain gets all clogged. (Yay for long hair that falls out like crazy)

@radink: Actually, it's $1940-2040 ($60/month contract x 24 months + $500-600). Of course, it could be more expensive if you get more minutes. Many people are already paying 60+ a month for their cell phone contract or data plan anyway.

Safari is great for your average computer user. It's very fast and simple to use, and that's all most users really care about. Hell, even I had been using it until the recent Camino update because Firefox is just too slow and clunky for me on the mac. It could make a very good alternative to IE for your average PC

@leejames: Camino > Preferences > Tabs, then check the box that says "load in the background"

I stick with motorola for my phones because they tend to sync up well via bluetooth with my macbook. My e815 syncs up my contacts and google calendar. Of course, things will be even easier once the iPhone comes out. :)

Most of the tab complaints can be solved with a some about:config tweaks. They're very easy. I'd suggest googling them! :)

I can't believe no one mentioned Deal News. It's pretty neat because you can subscribe to the feeds for the specific items you're in the market for.

It might be more helpful to have a virtual desktop type extension, except just for Firefox.

I had no idea about #6! That's definitely my favorite tip. Can't wait to try it when I'm back hom on my mac.
