I mean the autopilot obviously failed in the sense that it didn’t see a fucking truck. As designed, the driver is supposed to take over in that situation, and ultimately the fault rests with him, but I don’t think you can consider not seeing and avoiding a 12' high object in the middle of the road a non-failure.
It is important to note that Tesla disables Autopilot by default and requires explicit acknowledgement that the system is new technology and still in a public beta phase before it can be enabled.
still in a public beta phase
It’s opposite writing. Great writing tells you what happens and lets you infer how people feel. These examples tell you exactly how you should feel and forces you to guess what happened. The writers know they’re only supposed to do one of the two things but they keep guessing incorrectly.
It bugs me just a bit that you felt you had to quit a lucrative gig because it offended your boyfriend’s finely tuned sense of social justice. From the way it sounds, you weren’t depriving a non-white student of a place at UT Austin; you were just indirectly helping prop up the delusions of adequacy of mediocre white…
When I was 16, I was paid minimum wage to participate in a reality TV show in Puerto Rico that included challenges like eating mayonnaise on camera with my hands tied behind my back.
He’s sick and absolutely will re-offend. He’s exactly the kind of person prisons were built for.
I’ve lost two jobs solely based on the reporting of my case.
Don’t forget the 24 year-old teacher tied to a cinder block at the bottom of a pond:
The Washington Post pointed out about two weeks ago that Trump has claimed to have donated $102M to charity over the last ten years, but they were unable to find a record of ANY personal donations by him. Instead, there were many “gifts” to charity of rounds of golf by courses owned by Trump and similar “donations,”…
“I never claimed to be ‘John Baron.’”
This man is the definition of thin skinned. All he does is dish it out, he can’t take a tap from a butterfly without boo hooing like a two year old who needs a nap.
“Instead of being like, ‘Thank you very much, Mr. Trump,’ or ‘Trump did a good job,’ everyone’s saying, ‘Who got it? Who got it? Who got it?’ And you make me look very bad,” Trump complained, taking on reporters in the room. “I have never received such bad publicity for doing such a good job.”
That was the weirdest press conference I’ve ever seen outside of the context of a gay sex scandal from a family values candidate.
If there is any silver lining here it’s that the media seems to have finally decided to put their pants back on, wash their hands and start doing their fucking job, which is holding this assholes feet to the flames on all his obvious bullshit lies he’s been spouting off.
It’s like when you’re 12 and your mom told you to clean your room before she got home from work. You obviously spend all day not doing it and then spring to frantic action shoving all your crap in your closet the second you hear your garage door open.
“I never said six!”
I admire Elizabeth Smart so much for all the advocating she does for women and girls who have been raped. She's a strong woman.
So glad to see she’s doing well. She’s a tough as nails woman who doesn’t get enough credit for everything she’s accomplished.
