Oh, why did John Cazale have to go so early?..... I want to cry every time he’s on.

Mixed-race people: will they ever belong?

I really really hope it's just one scene (it won't be)

So obviously the sequels can’t be compared to the first Back to the Future in terms of quality, but if you compare the 3 to 2, 3 is by far my favorite. The second one makes no goddamned sense to me and really isn’t all that fun. By jumping back 100 years the third one doesn’t get mired down in all the timeline

I will gladly defend BTTF 3.  To me its more enjoyable then 2.

Yeah, the third one takes the basic plot of the original, switches the Marty and Doc roles, and generally has a good time. I love it.

I find the level of hatred that people express about views that differ from theirs, and the violence of language towards others, disturbing.”

I think the underlying problem is that Palpatine is a horribly written villain. His schemes are just endless repeats of impossibly complicated scenarios where disaster is averted in large part by dumb luck — dodging a blaster shot by an inch, hanging on to a speeder by fingernails, stopping an assasin with one second

Yes, both were on my shortlist. Not included only because: a) I’m not convinced Harrelson is a great mimic (tbh I have doubts about Denzel Washington too in that regard) and b) Rockwell, for all his deserved accolades— even the Oscar— is not quite at the instantly recognizable star level Harrelson is.But putting those

UGH. Awful. It absolves her of nothing, as I said, if anything that means she should be held to a higher standard of not being a bigot.

It’s totally believable, especially for his children and grand children. If your only image of your dad is a loving and caring man who wrote beloved children’s books and then you see a quote written in a magazine where he says something anti-Semitic, it’s hard to fight against what you know vs what you’ve heard. It’s

I’m Jewish, I loved his books as a kid, and unless someone can point out to me anywhere where these ideas actually showed up in his work, I don’t have an issue with them continuing to be available for future generations.

If your reason is paranoia about things like the hunt for Bin Laden or the Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment, then sure, let’s talk. If it’s skepticism about the science of vaccinations, then you’re an idiot who is contributing to people dying. If you’re anti-vax because Bill Gates “stands to profit from it greatly” or

Eh, if you choose to spread dangerous misinformation about the deadly pandemic sweeping across the world and about vaccines in general, sorry, you deserve to be canceled. Like, I can’t think of a more justifiable reason for canceling somebody. Also, people need to fuck off with the “just asking questions” bullshit.

A wizard did it. It’s a wizard did it all the way down.

This will be the third time Pixar has put out two movies in the same year. The first two times, one got critically acclaimed while the other got more mediocre reviews. I expect that pattern to continue this time around, because I’m really looking forward to Soul.

Studios basically know before a movie gets released how it will perform with audiences and critics, for the most part, and marketing budgets/campaigns usually are reflective in their confidence in a project.
