Emmerich playing fast and loose with the term ‘original’ there.

If you’d spoken to any scientist at the time or looked at an independant review of any vaccines (pretty much ever), you’ll see they always say it’s not 100% effective. With Covid, it was around 95% for Delta. But 5% of millions of cases is still tens of thousands of cases of vacinated people catching Covid. It has

Is Andy Serkies going to play a mo-cap version of the car?

Think this show is ideal for reboot. Loved the original. And yes, there should be a cameo of Scott B - find him in a leap.

So what? If it gets the job done.

So this article is that someone who is really good at their job, is getting shit because some snarky people in the media don’t like difficult people anymore.

Agree with the comments below that a film set (or TV) isn’t like a normal workplace. Actors are brought in for being rude, funny, raucous etc. But...maybe it’s time that some more rules were brought in. Or processes. Brief those who are coming on to set what to expect from the ‘talent’ and where the line is. And what

Sorry, was more aimed at the general comments rather than specifically yours.

Think he was saying that Freddie never made a big coming out statement, or discussed much about his sexuality with the band. That it wasn’t a big discussion point for them. It was just kind of accepted that he was bisexual. The papers did hound him when he was getting ill with Aids, though, and after he died they were

But again, what level of conviction. I mean, surely there’s been gun crime, drug crime, probably a few rock stars have been in fights, trashed hotel rooms etc. And if they’ve served time or done their punishment, what then? Even if Manson was charged, would he get a long term punishment or prison time with the legal

My theory is that the issue is that superhero movies are essential a sub-genre of movies that got too big and became a genre. Within sub-genres, the rules are pretty strict and structure rigid. Which is fine when you’re aiming at a sub-section of the audience.

Agree but... it’s what’s expected. If the third act was a sit down discussion or even some hugely emotional climax you’d get a lot of people complaining that the end was a bit meh. It’s just part of superhero stories, the same way that even great rom coms have similar endings, or whodunnits, or westerns.

Yep. Loved a lot of Marvel’s movies. But they’re getting less and less interesting. But I trust the producers to know when the cash cow is drying up and how to revitalise it. I reckon that end of this phase (5/7 years away, maybe 10) they’ll do a hard restart.

You know, there are shades of grey in life. Private doesn’t have to mean zero interaction with any outside world, media etc. It can mean, I’m an actor, I want to engage with my fans but I’m not going to ring every paparazzi to photograph me grabbing a coffee, turn up to any event going, get it spats with other celebs

Maybe he’s not actually in character. Maybe it’s a behind the scenes shot.

Just thinking it was a bit on the nose. Did he dress like this before he owned a chocolate factory?

Think GoldenEye is a classic Bond. Brosnan was pretty much a blend of all previous Bond’s. The cool of Connery, English gent of Moore, killer instinct of Dalton. Probably his downfall. And the stupid Die Another Day, which is awful.

Of course the talent don’t see the awful side of him as regularly as the assistants do. That’s just the way it is. Sorkin probably got into a few heated arguments with him but then ended up going for lunch together, not being left on a bridge.

I remember such lists from when I was young and those stuck in my head. Some songs will always hold a place in my heart because they were once voted one of the greatest songs ever by a magazine I love. But, yeah, I’m getting too old for this shit.

These Marvel shows seem to be going for a ‘crazy, boundary pushing one’ followed by ‘straight actioner’ one. Happy with that approach and love a good Christmas setting - definitely seems to be aiming for that Die Hard/Shane Black vibe.
