What about the Weezer cover of Toto’s “Africa?” The original was not the best track on the album, but was catchy, more for Toto’s superb studio musician skills and production than the absurd lyrics. The remake was generic to the point of offensiveness.

I keep looking for Weezer’s “Africa,” but it’s not showing up. I think my browser must be broken.

“Goo Goo Muck” by Ronnie Cook and the Gaylads (1962) as covered by The Cramps (1981).

Don’t hide your light, AVC. Some of us still remember AV Undercover:

Fair enough, but does she have to stand on the lawn all night running the sprinklers for anyone to get it?

Listen, if anyone can be trusted to deliver a script about media pandering, it’s South Park, the ancient franchise that’s been pandering nonstop to mediocre edgy white dudebros for a quarter century.

“I’m forever near a stereo saying, ‘What the fuck is this garbage?’ And the answer is always the Red Hot Chili Peppers.”

I’d be more inclined to agree if McConnell wasn’t arguably the most important figure in how the GOP has corrupted every level of government, merrily destroying people’s lives in his sick pursuit of wealth and power. There’s no karma or great cosmic balancing going on here. A shitty person is approaching the end of his

Now I’m not accusing the writers of being pro-genocide. But its getting to a point where ‘its a warning’ is starting to look like ‘the X-Men exist so writers can commit genocide, but its ok cause we’ll bring them back for the next set of writers to do it all over again’.

Marvel’s obsession with committing genocide over and over again is more than a bit unsettling at this point. With how often its come up its seeming like the message that Marvel is trying to send is less ‘genocide bad’ more ‘minorities aren’t allowed nice things and if you start to get happy we’ll kill you all off’.

(bullshit)You know...[looks around, leans in and whispers]...those people. I ain’t racist or nuthin’ buuuuuuuuuut...you know what I’m saying.

We’ve created a society where the uber rich can make the stupidest fucking decisions imaginable, ruin people’s careers and lives, and never face any consequences.

The entire CC run is worth it for “The Late Philip J. Fry” alone.

This article is partly correct. Disney in fact did pay out the bonuses to his staff. He was actually quite a spendthrift when it came to giving out bonuses to his staff, as well as pay raises, much to the consternation of his brother Roy, who then had to go to the creditors to get additional loans while they went

I couldn’t agree more. I did something like this many years ago when trying to get from Oslo to Vienna for a reasonable price. It was a bit different though - a round trip was cheaper than a one-way trip so I booked the round trip and didn’t take the flight back to Oslo.

Again, it’s not up to you to gatekeep the validity of any given person’s gender identity. Full stop.

You  know when you start to resent your partner not for doing anything in particular but for the simple fact that they’re not right for you, for whatever reason. What’s missing from the article is the moment you realise that it’s on you, not them, and you’re misdirecting your frustration. I assumed that’s where the

This article was all over the place. I had no idea what point was trying to be made. Americans in the 1800s celebrated the end of a harvest which would mean bountiful food through the harsh winter when most people had to grow their own food? But that was bad and made up. Now most Americans don’t grow their own food,

The errors in this article are so galling and obvious. I am seriously only still coming here for the commentors now.

Why are you acting like America is the only nation with fall celebrations? There have always been celebrations around the autumn harvest. The autumnal equinox is auspiciuos AF in pagan traditions. Thanksgiving does, indeed, have problematic roots, but America didn’t invent fall. Good grief.
