Worthen is full of shit. If she took better account of her own narrow perspective and how much of her conclusions are based on her feelings, then she might be able to make a decent point.

Eh. “I feel like,” is more or less used by people to mean the same thing as “In my opinion,” or “I think,” and, while all of these phrases are meant to express a less than 100% confident stance toward the statement one is making, they are pragmatically used as polite ways to introduce potentially conflict-creating…
I only use “I feel like” when I’m about to talk shit or I actually have no evidence to back what I’m saying and what I’m saying is actually just a guess/feeling. Example: I feel like this bar will just be more fun than that bar tonight.
Rather than condemn millennials—and those, shall we say, contaminated by them—for shirking “responsibility” through discourse, let’s acknowledge our more pressing duty: to stop policing speech, and instead welcome the voices clamoring to be heard.
I think Worthen has a point. But then I’m old.
Hmm. Interesting. My boss recently told me that I come across as too aggressive, so in order to “make people want to work with me” I should hedge more. And the exact example she gave was: instead of saying “This is a problem” I should say “I feel like maybe this could be a problem.”
My take from this is goddamn, Jimmy Johnson is so fucking good. I have no clue how he got punted into another car, then the wall, wrecked his right front, and recovered and drove away from that. Dude’s a jedi master.
You’re right. It’s not a remake. I just checked the official IMDB plot synopsis. It manages to be even more sexist.
The trailer is pretty bad, but it’s not terrible enough to warrant this reaction. Make no mistake about it, the strong negative reaction to this trailer is from 30-50 year old man-children angry that Columbia is letting girls play with their toys. I hope this movie does well, and I genuinely think it still can (the…
I don’t have faith. Because I know that if they are true to the plot of the movie, it says nothing positive about women.
Not really. Just calling out an obvious agenda. Jez seems to think anyone who thinks this movie looks like shit is a woman hating Mra neck beard which I think is bullshit.
It’s a bad trailer. Obviously those having issues with female ghostbusters are trying their best to prevent the film from doing well, which is very sad. But I’ve got faith in the cast and Feig as director. I’ve enjoyed his recent string of films and think he’ll do a good job. The original is a classic and it’s very…
It makes sense to mortgage your future to get a can’t miss QB. It makes no sense, even sick sense, to give up a ton of draft picks to try to get a quarterback you aren’t sure will turn into a star. The draft position of the last ten SB winning QBs is 1, 199, 75, 18, 1, 24, 32, 11, 1, and 1 (the 4 ones are the same two…
Drafting a franchise quarterback is always important, which is why the Cleveland Browns do it every 3 years.
In that banner pic, Jeff Fisher looks like the guy that gets his shit-kicked in by mobsters because he owes them interest on the loan they gave him for his “Cash 4 Gold” business.
If there’s any solace for the Rams, it’s that the Titans are the team making the picks they traded so it will undoubtedly not look so bad in retrospect
It’s too bad Jeff Fisher won’t be around to see the Titans name all those draft picks captains against the Rams in 2-3 years.
Should have trolled the Germans & moved the team to Dresden.
Well, or create a developmental league in an area that would be able to support it
If NFL teams want better QB development, maybe they should stop being such cheap asswipes and fund a real minor league instead of relying on a bunch of petty tyrant college coaches that don’t even care about the long term development of their unpaid players
