Ok great, do you have a cite for the statute or case law that shows when a divorce is effective in CA? Also, everything I saw, in my cursory glance at CA law, states that an advance healthcare directive is nullified by divorce. So yeah, this is odd, and probably not true, is my point. Where are the sources? Would it

Right, but legally, in my state they would not be. Even if the divorce wasn’t ratified, but the papers were signed, by act of law she would not have the legal ability to make decisions for a former spouse. Like I said. I am sorry you don’t seem to understand. My point is that I am surprised that this is real.

I fail to see how someone who has signed divorce papers is still responsible for the medical decisions of a soon to be former spouse. At least in my state, any legal documents made prior to a divorce are invalidated by a divorce between the spouses. This seems wrong.

I look forward to her being awarded tons of $. Fuck Xtians (at least american style ones)

“most liberal”. el oh el.
