Going all Jets homer here and saying: I am screen capping the Sam Darnold take for a few seasons from now when it is clear he absolutely does not suck.

Precisely. What we should be calling “The Val Pascucci Roster Spot.”

I’m with you on this. I am a Mets fan, and there are so many in the fan base that hate this, and I totally get it.

1) He hit 42 homers in 2015
2) Batting average is a truly terrible way to evaluate a player.
3) He has a career .388 OBP, and a career .900 OPS
4) His career slash line in the 2nd half of the season is .281/.380/.492 (compared to .277/.394/.529). Not exactly night and day.
5) According to Baseball Reference, the second-mo

As much as I delight in the Nationals never winning a playoff series, it’s hardly one guy — especially not Bryce Harper — who deserves the blame.

Nah, man. Bryce is legit. He’s 26 (Pujols was about to be 32 when he signed his deal with the Angels). He’s worth the money. And honestly? The Tigers have virtually no chance in getting him anyway, so it’s a moot point.

The explanation from your son is amazing. That really does frame it up nicely!

I’m a die hard of all the second-rung NY teams (Mets, Jets, Islanders, Nets). My wife (Yanks/Giants/Isles) and I struck a deal with my son that we’d raise him Mets/Giants/Isles. We told everyone in advance, and everyone was cool with it.

One of the most underrated parts of Jeopardy! is the forlorn look on the face of a contested that is just mashing their buzzer on every question and never getting through. I’m sorry if my amusement was ever directed at you.

This is good and deserves more stars!

I would get all righteously indignant about sneakerheads if I wasn’t a jersey buff who has not one, but TWO Kaz fucking Matsui authentic jerseys, so my only response to this is to offer Dan a hug.

Too soon, man... :(

Hey, everyone. The Nets are fun! I don’t know what to do with myself.

Absolutely, man. He’s a great story, and he’s turned into a damn good player. Nice to see a good dude working hard and having it pay off.

It’s a fair point. Whether you want to read into the finish of Tuesday night’s match or not, I think it’s clear that Bryan certainly can (and based on WWE’s sketchy track record with the handling of his career, will) be punished in the future.

Yes, presumably he’d have to recuse himself in any deGrom extension talks. Which is probably okay in this organization, since it’s the Wilpons who green light the money and commitment on a case-by-case basis anyway.

The Mets do plenty of stupid, shitty things, but deferring that $5.4 million opened up the short-term money for them to acquire Mike Hampton from the Astros (who was the NLCS MVP that next season), and once Hampton signed with the Rockies in the ‘00-’01 offseason, the Mets took David Wright with the comp pick they

Can we all agree that the guy who runs this account is who runs the Iron Shiek’s, too?
