The piano she played in the Russian music shop was a Heintzmann. That exists only in Canada. (It's laughable to think you would ever see one in Russia. Not in a million years.) But I wondered about some of the tourist-quality old European staircases and buildings in "Moscow". Those don't grow in Canada. Movie-lot

This blatant product placement, whatever it was, went right over my head. I don't know what it was. I should be pleased to be immune, but now I'm curious. What was it?

Freeman and his family are living now in northern Manhattan, in what is now Harlem. In 1860s, that's a long way away, and a world away, but not all that far from downtown New York. It probably took the better part of a day to get there with a cart and all their belongings, but a man on a fast horse could probably do

My TV's guide, which looks ahead two weeks less one day, has just popped
up with the info that there's a new Grimm episode appearing on Monday
Aug. 13, 10 pm. An odd time of year for a  network (NBC) to start a
show's new season but welcome since there's so little on at the moment.
And Mondays now, OK.
