OK, I found a good competitive cooking show.

The producers of this show are just fucking stupid. Damn them to hell.

There will be some sort of call-back on the arm-holster-gun to that episode where Raylan knew the knife-throw to the table was coming and pulled the tablecloth to catch the gun. But maybe not a straight reprise, but something innovative.

I've now caught up with this series over the weekend.

Ed's blaming Beverly for knocking him out is so ridiculous it's shameful. Let's suppose there was no Hot Chef Kitchen, or whatever it was called, and Beverly never came back. There would have been four chefs instead of five - the last four. He would still have been judged worse than Paul and Lindsey, and would still

What were the shots in the Bennett store at the end? Just Dickie
shooting (and where'd he get the bullets?) at no one, after Limehouse's
guys had already left, to pretend that he was the one who shot the
goons? Why did he want to do that (and claim self-defense)? What did
that get him? Why even shoot the gun - did he

It's Hagrid. He's large.

If the Christmas special was 2 hours long, it's airing here in 2 weeks' time.

It was quite funny that to Lord Grantham, the "new era" he spoke about in his address to the staff on Armistice Day, was bringing with it chiefly the daring option - but only when dining alone - sometimes - with Lady Grantham - of wearing  his new dinner jacket (tuxedo) with black tie rather than full dress white tie

According to Wikipedia, these claiming races make up over half of all races run, and constitute the bottom level of horse racing. It still seems peculiar to me, but clearly not to the world of horse racing. I guess it provides a way for people who are stuck with what turn out to be not very good horses to both race

I imagine that this was mentioned during the first season by a knowledgeable viewer, but I happened to be watching a move from 1942, Mrs Miniver, that was on TCM this weekend. (It was a Hollywood film set in England, directed by William Wyler starring Greer Garson, that FDR apparently felt was very instrumental in

There seems to be just one more episode - next week - before the 2-hour finale non-Christmas special - the following week.

Does anyone know what the point (from an owner's point of view) of a
"claiming race" is? Why would anyone run a horse in a claiming race?
What do they, or might they, get out of it that's worth the risk? Just
the small amount of cash that people put up to be eligible to claim?
That's it?If we can assume the people

What the hell?

I'm guessing you mean you were bawling. Not balling.

Except that Mad Men manages all this pretty well, because Matt Weiner is apparently as fanatical about all this as drewogatory is. Also there's less technical stuff. But lots of professionals nevertheless.

It's the usual problem that we at home don't get to taste anything so we really can't comment. Tom said, with some vehemence, that Chris continually comes up with great ideas but just can't execute well. That's the best reason for him to get eliminated.

Final FIVE. Or it could be Semi-final five, I guess. 5 -1 + 1 = 5. Don't forget the 1 that comes back from winning LCK.

Even the AV Club couldn't be bothered to put these two episodes on the Calendar, even though it now turns out they had someone to review them after all. So what do you expect of NBC?

How is anyone else supposed to know what you would find appropriate for your daughter? Watch it yourself, and you'll know. People are shot and die, it's gory for a few seconds at a time.
