Who's "Nikki"? Do you mean Lucy?

It's Hagrid, who's somehow lost his British accent.

Ah. That sort of makes sense.

Thanks for the explanation.

So I think I must have missed something, otherwise it doesn't make much sense.

And, from the same ÇC source, it's Philpotts, not Filpotts. Even more English (by a long way).

Wait Wait is based on a much longer-running BBC Radio 4 - and then TV - show called The News Quiz. I have no idea if it's still running there or not, but when I lived in the UK in the 1980s and up to 1993, it was wonderful, and hilarious. As best I recall it was somewhat sharper than Wait, Wait.Still, when I got here

My channel guide just made it up to Jan. 5. Not on then either.

I see today's ep is up at iTunes, so it must have shown. I guess my channel guide must have been faulty, without the NEW tag. It will be On Demand in a day or so,I'll see it then.

Was it really on tonight? My DVR, set to record new episodes only, didn't record it. Also Hayden says the penultimate episode is next week. But my channel guide does not have Prime Suspect next Thursday - it has an extra episode of The Office at 10:00. What's up?

So, no State of Play or Top Chef reviews this week?

The Good Wife, a network show, no less. We're not entirely sure what Kalinda is, but she appears to be a queer-by-preference woman of color, or a bisexual woman of color at any rate.

This show is just grim, and dull. There's no humor in it anywhere, and little substance. It's  completely unsatisfying, like sitting down to a meal and eating paper. Bleahh.

So if Walker was going to kill the hunter character just "to be
safe", why didn't he do it in the woods? Why did he wait for the guy to
get back to his car and almost make it out of there? That just seemed to
be a setup for the audience, a bit fake.

It should.

Maybe he meant Henry VI (3 parts, immature, rambling) - or should have. The two parts of Henry IV are among the glories of Shakespeare.

Someone called Emily Withrow is filling in for "Emily"? Is that right? Maybe a surname is needed here? Or did AV Club get the byline wrong?

There is no such word as "disinteresting". It's unfortunate when people lose the original meaning of "disinterested"* by using it when they mean "uninterested" but it's common enough to know what they mean. But what is "disinteresting" supposed to mean here? "Not interesting"? That makes no sense here:

It's probably also more realistic than we usually get in a TV show, where naturally the point is to show something interesting happening. Investigators probably miss leads a lot of the time especially, where, like here, there isn't really much to go on. Since the professor had the advantage - which, honestly, must be

I don't subscribe to Showtime and have never wanted to before now.
I've been impressed by the great reviews of Homeland, so I thought it
would be worth paying for it on iTunes. But it's not there, although
virtually all other Showtime shows are there. I watched Episode 1
(Pilot) shown for free on the Showtime
