Boeuf may be spelled correctly, but giving it "La" article when it should be "Le" ruins the Frenchness with that one too.

Yes, this doesn't make sense to me either. He'd only been there 1 day, or was it 2? when he was allowed to become primary detective by virtue of picking up the phone. That's ridiculous. That might be the rule for fully-fledged detectives but he was just an intern at that point. Surely he'd be expected just to sit in…
I liked it. Yay.
Try also Alan Sepinwall at What's Alan Watching? at hitfix.com. Probably the best TV reviews.
Just a side issue, but don't forget that Marie knew that the hospital stay was incredibly expensive, and that Walt and Skyler were footing the bills; while Hank assumed that his DEA health insurance was paying, and there was no way he wasn't going to get full value out of that since it was the DEA's fault he was there…
Rough justice
Rough justice would be to renew the series (as they've just done), let it go the 2 or 3 episodes until this plot is finally resolved. Then cancel the rest of the series the next day.
No he wasn't. He was 9 hours earlier than the "correction" above - only 2 minutes after he first posted the misspelling. But he made a mistake in correcting himself via a "new comment" instead of a reply to his original one. So it appears lower down than the replies.
I think marilynm could be on to something here: endangered butterfly resting places subverting a waterfront development when publicized. This would tie in the various plots very neatly.
Good going, monkey.
The interesting thing was that Dale picked Marcel as captain of the other team purely to guarantee that he wouldn't be on his own team. And he was right - that turned out to be the only way to guarantee it. Had he picked someone else as rival captain, with that other team always picking members first, Marcel might…
Hiatus?
Anyone know why Top Chef continues to be listed under Hiatus, 5 shows into a new season? People looking for it under Current Shows, where it should be, won't find it and may think it's not being reviewed.
OK, so now the question is: what's a javelin man?
Oops, I meant to say:
CGI no big deal
I didn't know, except for reading it here, about the CGI or he fact that Nancy Marchand died before this episode was filmed. Sure, I can see now it looks a bit woozy, but I can't say it bothered me much as I was watching. Livia repeated herself a lot, and a few of the shots were actual flashbacks. For…
And Rutgers, but that's different. There's a lot of stuff I miss when people don't speak clearly, which they often don't (as in real life). That's where I usually like to turn on captions/subtitles, but I can't find any so far (up to season 3). That may just be because I don't know how to work my DVD (actually…
New Jersey
I'm currently watching the series for just the second time. I'd been sort of puzzled that throughout seasons 1 and 2, although The Sopranos is firmly placed in "North Jersey", no city or town is ever named, as far as I could hear. Not even when dealing with the corrupt black alderman. I realize that they…
Spanish?
Very astute review, John Teti.
Crosswords
Even if most things from the pilot can be ditched, they keep referring, even in this episode, to the clues in all the big papers sharing clues and answers on the day of David Haddis's death, and how this was a signal from/to the Atlas group to action. Sometime they're going to have to come up with an…
Yeah, but do any of them *sound* like Truxton Spangler? I can't believe anyone sounds like him - very distinctive.
Got it. Thanks.
